How does this rating system work ?

I had completed more than 108 answers upon my last login. However, now when I logged in, I found to my horror, that my points show only 100, as against previous 108 or so. Also my star points, which were 8 on last login, now has become 7.Does this affect my $$, not that I have earned anything, just $ 1 so far... Please help me with some guidance to make the most of mylot, as everything is so not clarified. thank you for your help yours friendly Heartwalker
