I almost went to jail the other night

So I'm cleaning up the kitchen after dinner and I noticed that someone was walking up to my door. I walked over and he says hi donna how are you today? I asked well who are you? he says I'm with the sheriff's department can i talk to you for a minute? next thing i know two more are there and I'm thinking what the heck is going on? Apparently I had a ticket from two years ago that turned into a warrant but I was never sent a notice or anything. the ticket was for $60. It was the absolute most wild thing I've ever experienced. Thank God my husband was there. He asked the guy if I give you cash right now can you give me a receipt? he said no I have to take her tonight. OMG. My heart was in my stomach and my whole body was shaking. Then he said you know this does seem to be a mistake and for this little amount what I'll do is if you promise to take care of this first thing tomorrow we'll leave but if you don't take care of it and we have to come back you will be going to jail. Well you bet your little tush first thing the next morning I was over paying that ticket. The thing is I don't remember it granted it was two years ago but I would never let something go that long or get to that extreme. Has something like this ever happened to anyone else?
