You and your parents are wonderful people making this a better world because of it. If any of my children had a handicap I wouldn't love them any less. My husband and I do plan on becoming foster parents when our children are grown and we don't plan against discriminating against any child. They all need to be loved.

I am disabled myself. I plan to adopt kids, because it is healthier for my skeleton than having them biologically. I want to adopt kids with disabilities just so I can make sure they get everything they need to be independent, happy, and productive mem. I'll be a Mom from Hell- a crazy disability, rights organization of activist mothers, both able-bodied and disabled with special needs kids- with insurance companies, doctors, and durable medical equipment (like whhelchairs and walker) companies.

I have 4 children. Two of them are "disabled." Of the two handicapped children, one is adopted. I love them both. I think special-needs adoption is a wonderful thing. I can't imagine my life without the handicapped child I adopted. He is beautiful. If anyone is interested in adoption check out my how-to article at:

P.S. I fostered before adopting. Adoptive parenting is much better than foster parenting! IMHO!

there are no IFs... the if word is ugly on this issue... it shouldn't exist... I mean the adoption thing it's a delicate thing... either you do it either you don't... there is no if, no condition no nothing... just yes or no... yes I want and I'm capable to help a hid... and no I don't want nor am I capable of helping... why? because a kid it's not an object... he is a human being with feelings and like you sad its not a kid fault... so yes or no...
in my case, I'm to young to answer that question, but when I'll be old enough I'll answer it;)
