My 7 year old daughter loves shopping. We often go out for the day shopping, which she calls our girls day out and she chooses all the shops we go to and chooses where to go for a large hot chocolate and a yummy chocolate muffin. We have great fun and get to spend quality time together.

My mother and I did this all while I was growing up and still do it now and I'm 26. I think it's a great mother/daughter bonding experience and fun. To this day when shopping for anything important I'd rather bring her along then do it with friends, I trust and value her opinion highly. However I will warn you that it can lead to a major shopping addiction, lol. What we try to do sometimes now is switch it up and do a movie instead of the shopping or try something that's going on it town. It's the time together that really makes the difference and creates that bond.

I think shopping with your kids is great. My only worry is that I may spoil my kid if we always buy stuff. But, if I try, I can keep it mostly to window shopping. My little one's shopping treat is popcorn chicken. It's great when people find common ground with their kids so they can spend quality time. Kudos!
