Hello Mylotters,
I used to read a lot of books some 5 years back, before I got used to Internet. But now, I dont spend too much time on reading, as most of the time, I spend Online. Do you think, the habit of Reading has reduced among the people because of Internet ? What can be done on this ? Share your thoughts.

I got my own computer almost two years ago... and I still continued buying books up until last year... but I noticed that I hardly read them anymore. Unlike before when I didn't get to spend a lot of time on the computer, I used to read at night, even if it was just a smutty pocketbook, if I only want to fall asleep.
Now, I just pass out in front of the computer, in my chair.

I think your observation is right. I do not read books any more and I read the newspaper online for free and also some magazines. I spend the money I used to spend on books for the flat rate for my broadband connection. One only can spend money once and when I pay for the flat rate I do not have money for books and where I live we have to pay for the library also. Also this way I got out of the habit of reading books and I do not miss them. I have never bought an e-book not either.
I wonder why publishing houses still exist and have not gone bankrupt as of now.

Thats true. The money which we spent earlier for good books are now being spent for the internet connection. Thanks for the response.
