Federer or Nadal?

Everyone who is a tennis fan can clearly see the lucidity of Roger Federer's amazing ability to hit the ball. The question is: does he deserve to be number 1? I truly think he does but many people beg to differ. I hear people all the time "OH! Rafael Nadal should be number 1! Federer sucks!" or something along those lines. It is true that Nadal is a great player, but who should be number one? I say Federer, but what do you say?
