Why are men so shallow?!

Ok so before you get all mad at me I know not all men are.
I have met a few people online but they won't even talk to me until they see a picture. I didn't ask to marry them! I just want to talk & be friends. If at some point we seem compatible fine I'll send a picture. I don't like to send pictures until I'm comfortable with someone. How can people be so shallow that they won't even talk to you unless you are a model?

well i find a lot of men here on the net are like that or they are here for a quick....with no strings attached...
i do know people that have met their significant other on the net, but that seems to be few and far between...the old fashioned way works best

People are shallow because that's the type of world we live in nowadays. People, especially society, has taught the members of the world that apperance is the thing that is most important to the lives of others.
I mean, look at it. Look at how much money we spend on plastic surgery and make-up and "beautiful clothing" compared to how much money we give to the poor. Or even how much money we spend on our own educations!
I suppose it's just the way that society works, though. I wish it wouldn't happen.
