When I was younger, my favorite time to drive was at night.
If I was making a long trip I could take off and drive for hours nonstop. Driving was a lot more relaxing to me at night because I didnt have to fight the traffic all the time. I would just turn on the radio or throw in a tape and totally enjoyed the trip. As I have gotten older, that has kind of changed. I dont know if it is because on some level I feel that maybe my vision isnt what it used to be at night or what, but I just dont seem to be able to relax at night behind the wheel anymore. Kind of miss those old long trips of nice non-pressured hours of solitude.
Interested to see how others feel about it.

I'm from Kuala Lumpur and where I come from it's hot and humid all year but it's cooler at night. If I was to make a long trip,I definitely prefer to drive at night to avoid sunlight. It's just so hot to drive on the highway in the day cos i'll be exposed to direct sunlight and it's just so hot!I like driving at night cos traffic is less than during the day! Thanks kingri!

When I make a long trip I prefer to drive during the day time. I don't do well driving at night yet because I am a new driver. I have never been interested in driving a car as I always used the metro and public transportation. Where i lived before you get to places more easily using public transportation than driving your own car. Since I moved to this city where I live, things are very spread out and public transportation is not that good. So you can not do anything if you don't have a car. Well I passed my driver license this year, I failed one of my tests for running stop sign lol Well could you trust someone like that to drive at night?

I am getting older, too. Funny thing is, I feel exactly like you. I did love to drive at night and don`t any more. I think to myself, well, it is not bad in the daylight, drive slow, take it easy, you can see more things this way. But I got stuck somewhere and then it did rain forever and all of a sudden I found myself coming home at night driving home and it was all like in the good old days, it wasn`t my vision and it was relaxing and the trucks didn`t bother me and the rain not either and the music in the radio was real good and I had a ball like way back when.
So I found out it was just a hangup.
