I have bought new laptop 1 year ago. Earlier I've used desktop that was about 5 years old but I had to change it due to lack of place in my home. I'm not going to change the present computer unless it's completly necessary cause I need it only for my internet activity (not for games etc) so I can't upgrade it so often!

i have a PC that is 9 years old (still working and in good condition)... i upgrade my PC first i only buy new pc when it's necessary to buy a new one but when i buy a new PC i just store my old PC inside my command center (my room) and still use it from time to time for maintenance purposes and preservation

I think my desktop is about four years old. My laptop is less than a year old. My fiance also has a laptop that is less than a year old, and hopefully today we will be receiving our "new to us" computer, which is a gift from his dad, and is probably just over a year old. I really don't know what we're going to do with four computers!
When my computer gets old, I usually buy a new one. In the case of my laptop, it was because my old laptop stopped working. With my desktops, they are usually on their last legs before I get a new one.

My current computer is nearly a year old and I hope it does five years, it's so much faster than my old one. My last one lasted eight years but I spent so much on upgrades, I could have bought two or three new computers with the money. I think it's cheaper just to buy a new one every three to four years.

i'm really not sure how old my computer is but lets put it this way, it has a 333 mhz processor in it. so it's ancient by today's standards. the only reason i had to go back to using an ancient computer like that is because my 500 mhz machine went out on me and i couldn't afford a brand new computer. :(

I just purchased a new one a couple of months ago. The one I had before was about five years old and it was terrible. It was slow, it kept freezing, I rebooted several times a day. I hated it. I wanted to upgrade from Windows 98 to XP and it was suggested to buy a new computer rather than an upgrade because it was cheaper. I got everything new except the monitor - I'm still using the old one.

My computer is six years old; I also have a 300GB external harddrive for extra space (since my computer's internal HD only has 40GB). It's a Gateway, and it's still running quite well (thus, worth the high price).

Before I used to upgrade my computer to cut on cost. My oldest computer lasted for five years. Now I dont upgrade, I just buy new ones because of the fast pacing of computer parts. Just a few months and it's already limited or worst your whole set is completely obsolete.

I have a seven year old computer and I have a new hard disk in it and I have added other things but now I want to buy a new computer, preferably a barebone and use the new hard disk from this machine. So basically I want to buy an new case, motherboard etc. and use the newer parts of this computer that I have now to reduce cost.
