Did You Ever Wonder Why So Many People Are Online?

I spend a lot of time on the computer. Undoubtedly, most of you do as well. I wonder, what is it that we are all looking for? I'm looking to make money and friends and have fun. What are you all looking for when you log onto your computer? I'd like to hear some stories about what it is that gets people rushing to their computers as soon as they get in from work, or right after they finish dinner... or with that morning cup of coffee! What makes us all keep coming back? C'mon, I told you mine!

now that u asked me to think about it,i just wanna make more friends and spend some time talking to friends...and this is the least costly way to do so....money is not so important factor...because i don't think the money you make in communities like these doesn't match the time you spend in front of computer...i always like making friends especially distant ones from faraway countries

Yeah, I think it's really cool to be able to talk to people from other countries. I like to hear about what it's like in other countries and what their customs are. It's really neat to get to know someone from another land. What is so amazing to me, though, is that even though all countries are different, people turn out to be pretty much the same! And you can make a lot of really cool friends online!

I like to stay in touch with my friends so i keep checking my email very often on the same day. I would like to be able to reply as soon as I get any email. I also look for opprtunities to make a little money online from time to time. I like going to youtube and similar sites to watch some entertaining video clips and shows. And of course, I like to mylot.

I spend a lot of time in front the computer also. what I am looking for?. Well, it depends of what I doing, I mean if I am studying usually I am looking for some information useful for my college but if I am in vacations I am usually looking for fun or looking for people to talk, I like talk with people around the world. but a few months ago I started to looking for information to make some extra money online, I have found a lot of people who know really how make money online but also, I have found it is really hard to earn some money. I think the people like to stay online because they find something to keep busy their minds, my sister like chat and use internet for get rid of the stress, she didn't like to stay sit all the day, but since she started to use internet she liked it a lot. I think internet have that nothing in the world have, because you can find exactly the thing you like. if you go to watch television you find just information that maybe you don't want to know, but when you come to internet you can search just for the thing that you like.

I agree. I use the internet to find information, make friends and just spend time doing something other than sitting around the house. It really helps to keep your mind busy, and you get to meet a lot of great people and learn a lot of new things. I like to share information, opinions and discussions and I also like to play games. :)

I think it's the amount of freedom we have online that keeps up coming back. I mean, how many of us could be writers in our area? How many of us could have a chance to speak out ourselves where we are right now? If ever we did so, would anyone listen? How many of us could actually go and say hello to everyone and make friends in public as we can here? I doub't you'd come up to someone on the streets and start being friends with them. But here, we can do so. Plus, we can be ourselves yet not be ourselves here. No one knows us, we can be as funny as we can, as rude or as interesting as we can be without anyone trying to say we're not. The net just gives us much more freedom than we ever could have in our lives. That's why we keep coming back. =) I don't know with you guys, but I'm here because of that freedom. The feeling it gives, the sense of satisfaction and well-being. The feeling that finally, someone would hear me out! and if they don't like what I say, they can't put me to jail or shut me up or throw rotten tomatoes at me. Yes they can verbally abuse me, but hey, we have moderators and web-watches to stop them from doing so. Haha.. It's just indeed fun to be online. Dangerously fun that we sometimes forget there is a real world.

I couldn't have said it better myself. I'm sometimes very surprised at the confidence I have when I'm making friends online. I am surprised by how much I am willing to share with others and have them share with me. In public, I am not shy, but I would never have the self-confidence that I have on the net. It's kind of a shame that the real world couldn't be more friendly like the web. I sometimes wish it was as easy to make friends out there on the streets, but if I have to stay in this little world of spun webs, then so be it. At least I'm not lonely, and I'm surely not alone.

No problem, I just thought you really hit on something that keeps everyone online and put a lot of thought into what you wrote. Nice job. :)
