How sure can one be when shopping online?A person feels really scared to enter credit card details, what if you lose all your money to some rogue stealing your money.I really like the idea of buying goods over the internet, and I have a few times, and with no set backs.Still I feel a little scared that something could happen.

I posted on this topic in another thread. Rather than typing it all over, or violating myLot discussion rules and copy-pasting, allow me to link you to the page (response #8): http://www.mylot.com/w/discussions/1155640.aspx Hope this helps!

I am not sure about the safety. That's why I don't shop on line. I do shopping locally. First you can choose what you want and second you get cash discount when you pay cash and third thing is if you are not satisfied you can exchange it. last there is law that protects you.

all web browsers have a feature that lets you know if it's a secure site. meaning this site has been registered and uses encryption to hide all personal information. IE has a little padlock in the lower right corner that shows it's a secure site when the lock is in the locked position. In the open position it's not secure. Most sites use encryption all the time. I have been shopping banking and paying bills online and have yet to encounter any thefts or problems with security. Now Ive heard horor stories about different auction sites. Web sites also have whats known as certificates that show they are secure also. Theres a way to go into IE to check these also but I forget how. HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB !!~

I tend to try to use PayPal when I can, with that you have more control and can take back a payment that goes bad. But mostly I use that for things like e-Bay. When buying things from commercial sites, I have not had a problem yet, in fact I have had more problems buying from an actual store then from online, and I have made plenty of online purchases.
