I went to Shanghai for 2 weeks in 2005 and I absolutely loved it! The weather sucked (it was November so it rained everyday) but it was a welcome change from hot, humid Singapore. My favourite shopping places were Xiang Yang Shi Chang, Mo Gan Shan Lu and um that famous square I can't remember the name of.

I like shanghai, but the weather in shanghai is too hot.

Quite nice. But one fallback is that prices are not as low as other places in China. When it comes to sightseeing, it is really good. Such a very busy city even at late night. Almost like hongkong. I think the best place there is their TV tower and their bar street also.
