Fellow Mylotters, Does Australia Is A Continent Or A Country???

I come up with this topic because it make me wonder why australia is a continent and at the same time called country. Do you have any ideas about this fact???

both geograohically,there are not many countries in oceania and australia can be regarded as a continent in the oceania as well as a large country.

We are our own Country...and the major part of a continent called oceanic along with a couple of other countries.

Australia is a country. The continent where it belongs to, along with New Zealand, Papua New Guinea and others, is called Oceania.

well i think australia should be considered as a continent, since it is huge enough and seprated from other regional lands, so it should be considered as a continent, but no problem if people call it as a country also.
