I've just downloaded some of my favorite songs that were on vinyl once upon a time, but I can now add to my MP3 player. One of them is the son Honey (I miss you) by Bobby Goldsboro, it still brings a tear.
Do you have a sad song that gets you where it hurts?

Oh yes! Wind Benneath My Wings gets me the most. It was my sister's favorite song. When she was dying of cancer we used to sing it to her all the time and had a tape of it. At her rosary we played it too. It really sums up my feelings to my sister and I hear it and instantly I start to cry. It is a beautiful song so some people look at me funny when I cry but I can not help it.

Wind Beneath My Wings is also a song that makes me cry. I dedicated it to my Mom years ago and we played it at her memorial when she passed away 2 years ago. Whenever I hear it I feel joyful for how many years she was the wind beneath my wings and sad that she is flying on her own...and so am I...without my Mom and friend.
Thankfully I have a hubby that I also dedicated the song too so it has very bittersweet associations...just like life.

OMG! This is now a blast from the past. The first time I heard that song was a 'few' years ago I just got out of hospital and a friend of mine helped me into a nice relaxing bath and then she played that song for me! Needless to say I cried myself sick, it is indeed a beautiful song, I'm putting the lyrics here if you don't mind!
HONEY
See the tree, how big it's grown,
but friend, it hasn't been too long it wasn't big.
I laughed at her and she got mad,
the first day that she planted it was just a twig.
Then the first snow came and she ran
out to brush the snow away so it wouldn't die.
Came runnin' in all excited,
slipped and almost hurt herself, I laughed 'til I cried.
She was always young at heart,
kind a dumb and kind a smart and I loved her so.
I surprised her with a puppy,
kept me up all Christmas eve two years ago.
And it would sure embarrass her when
I came home from working late 'cause I would know
that she'd been sittin' there crying
over some sad and silly late, late show.
And Honey, I miss you and I'm being good.
And I'd love to be with you if only I could.
She wrecked the car and she was sad
and so afraid that I'd be mad but what the heck.
Though I pretended hard to be,
guess you could say she saw through me and hugged my neck.
I came home unexpectedly
and found her crying needlessly in middle of the day.
And it was in the early spring
when flowers bloom and Robins sing, she went away.
And Honey, I miss you and I'm being good.
And I'd love to be with you if only I could.
Yes, one day while I wasn't home,
while she was there and all alone, the angels came.
Now all I have is memories
of Honey, and I wake up nights and call her name.
Now my life's an empty stage
where Honey lived and Honey played and love grew up.
A small cloud passes over head
and cries down in the flower bed that Honey loved.
See the tree, how big it's grown...(fading)

Oh yes there are more songs than one that make me cry. Honey is one of them. I just don't think myLot would like a rsponse as long as it would take for me to put them all fown here. The spiritual Amazing Grace is one of them because it touches my spiritual self. A lot of George Jones songs can make my eyes overflow in a hurry.

I really like this one song. The lyrics is in my mother tongue language - Malay. The title of the song is Belaian Jiwa. It means the caressing of the soul. The song is about the feeling of a person where he lost his loved ones and how he grieved and let out his feelings through this song. It has such a beautiful lyrics and the melody and also sweet. I cry listening to it.

My ex and I enjoyed sharing the music that each of us brought to the relationship. CDs were always a great gift. He was a cab driver and listened to music all day and he would come home and tell me of something new he had heard and enjoyed. Playing my CDs now can be hazardous as I can be swept up in the memories and the emotions of times gone by and yes, the tears are there. I still imagine telling him when I hear something fabulous. We had some wonderful times. I believe some music is magical.

You are My Friend by Patti Labelle will make me get real weepy in a minute. I was listening to it tonight because I got one of her cds in the mail due to this music club I'm with, and I started to cry on it; Another song that has me sad is John Legend's "Ordinary People". I lost someone I really liked during the time his song dropped, and to this day, I get real sad and quiet.
