It sounds very funny that a cat eats tomatoes. My cats don't like vegetables, they will just eat grass when they feel like doing so. Tomatoes are always the healthy food. So I think it's good for your cat.

My cat just had some tomato, and I thought he was having a seizure. Tomatoes are bad for cats. He flopped on his side and threw up, really forcefully, I thought he was going to die.

My calico has been eating tomatoes for years and she is a perfectly healthy girl. She eats other fruits including blueberries, strawberries, oranges, and avocados. Seriously- she's a strange cat.

It must be the Siamese in your cat! My Siamese cat is 1-1/2 years old and I just discovered last week, quite by accident, that she absolutely loves tomatoes! She started chewing on the rest of my (small) tomato 10 mintues ago, and she is still at it! I found a website that said that tomatoes are toxic to cats, but Sarah has shown no ill effects. I don't believe that she would love it so much if it were bad for her. (She showed no ill effects from her first tomato last week, but I won't let her have more than one a week, just in case.) Thanks for sharing.

Actually, I think raw tomatoes are bad for cats. But my cat will eat tomato sauces like spaghetti sauce, and that doesn't seem to hurt her any.

That is a new one on me! I had a cat that ate lettuce, but never heard of tomatoes. I guess you will just have to wait and see if she is bothered by it. Maybe she needs the potassium. If she doesn't get sick, I wouldn't worry about it.

No, my cat certainly hasn't eaten tomatoes and, quite honeltly, this is the first time I've heard such a thing. I don't think they would be bad for your cat. I do know that, in people, tomatoes can cause gas and people who have stomach troubles should avoid them - maybe this is true for cats as well.... ps.....love the pic. of your kitty :)

That's funny, milk with sugar... Mine also like sweet stuff like apple turnovers, cake or a sweet dessert but too much sugar is no, no because she starts climbing walls and get very hiper...

One of my cats loves tomatoes and he'll eat them any way he can get them, whether they are fresh, tinned, cooked or just tomato sauce. When I come home from grocery shopping I have to make sure not to put the bag of vegetables on the floor, as once he managed to extract the tomatoes and run of with them. By the time I found him he had eaten one tomato and peeled the skin of another! What I find strange is he won't eat any other types of vegetables, just tomatoes!

I have a 8 month old Siamese kitten and she did the same thing. I've had Siamese cats before but none of them have ever eaten a tomato...Until now! I had a whole tomato (still in the plastic vegetable bags from the grocery store) on my kitchen counter. When I woke up the next morning, the tomato was on the floor, in a different room, and was 1/2 eaten. Little Turkey!!

Cats eat all kinds of food but they are more fond of meat, fish, egg, milk compared to veges, my neighbor has a cat, it is pure vegetarian, does not eat meat etc, well it depends upon how they are brought up.. thnxs for sharing, cheers kalyani
