I was in front of the TV engrossed in a serial programme. In it, there was this lady who would appear as an angel in the eyes of many, but underneath, she is a devil in disguise. I would get upset when I saw that she goes on to "seduce" another innocent victim to fish for information for her own benefit. My heart goes to the victim.
Yes, it might be a play of politics in the show, but to me, it seems the director is playing on our emotions to make the show a hit. Yet, I fall into the trap knowingly. *sigh*
Friends, when you watch a show or movie, do you go all way out and get emotional with the character on screen. Do you feel empathy or maybe sympathy with the character? Or do you felt as if you were the cast up there? Or you watch the show literally without any emotions?
Do you get emotional watching a show or movie? Kindly share your feelings.

Very rarely. There are so many touchy movies i've seen but have'nt ever gone into a state of shedding tears.
Emotional as in just being touched by that scene, that thought vanishes out once the movie ends.
It is usually women who mostly become emotional and cry also sometimes. My mother does it a lot, anyone can make her weep, even the worst of the actors, if there is an emotional scene involved.
I'll be mostly aware of the fact that it is just a movie and not real life.
I think when there are scenes of childhood and old memories, i get a bit emotional. I remember only one having wept so far seeing a movie, because it had traces of my real life as well.
I would have sympathy or empathy only till the Movie/TV show ends, once it gets over, the fact that they get paid lots of money for playing that role hits my mind.

oh yeah, this happens to me especially with korean dramas. haven't watched one in a long while, but the previous times when i watched one, i felt so sorry for this victim who was playing the part of the less handsome brother who was not liked by the heroine even though he was really a sweeter person than the older brother who was just a good looking playboy. and he had the sensitive music composer side to him.
and yah, i cry a lot during movies, not so much during drama seriels though i confess that that has happened before as well. heh.

I sometimes get so emotional with certain shows that hubby ends up laughing at me because of it. If it's something that makes me mad, I sit there and yell at the tv. If it's one of my favorite auto races, I will yell at the drivers as if they could hear me. And if it's a really sappy sad program, I have to have the tissues right next to me. Thankfully, hubby doesn't have a video camera, otherwise he'd be having all sorts of fun during those moments. LOL

All the time LOL I am a very emotional person and often get soppy and feel sorry for this character, then hate this one because he/she did something to another one and so forth. Most movies do this to me LOL some programs don't but majority of the time when I find a tv program that I can relate to, then I get into it. LOL

Oh yes, I often immerse myself quite fully into the show. After all, I want to enjoy the show.
In the situation you described, I would get hopping mad! I would feel like killing her for instance.
Sometimes when I am watching an injustice being played out, I would feel that I am the one being wronged and it will not be a pleasant feeling at all.:P

You? bighead...getting emotional? Hmmm...another one that I should remember."nasty grin"
I really can't remember when was the last time I watched a TV show. You won't see any reaction from me while watching. My mind is always pre-occupied with a lot of things. Besides, I only choose to watch talk shows and daily news program.
