Low long does it take before u find out that one is infected with the virus?

Unfortunately HIV can remain dormant for up to seven years according to the last paper I read on it. Are you trying to get tested, or are you looking for symptons?

Hi there pallidyne, HIV can be detected in about a couple of months after the day the person believes got the infection. However, if positive, the infection can make the person symptom-less for about that long (7 years) it all depends on several factors. Best wishes.

AIDS have an incubation period ranging from about 3-8 years.There are cases reported where it reamin dormant with out producing any kind of symptoms for many years.
