A letter to the myLot gods

Okay. I get a little silly sometimes. I have a wacky imagination.
This is how I see myLot.
I imagine the people who run myLot as Greek gods, up in the clouds, looking down and observing us.
They read our discussions and "zap us" when we're bad.
We are like ants in an ant farm. Someone up there is watching us running around and interacting and they are gaining all sorts of insight into the human phyche through our discussions.
Sometimes I wonder what the purpose of myLot is.
I don't mean, what is the our purpose. I know, we can earn money, make friends an get some meaningful feeback to things that we have on our minds.
What I'm wondering is what is "their purpose". What are they getting out of it? I'm sure selling advertising spots is a big part of it...
Is there anything else to it? Is big brother watching?
I guess I'm getting off track here, again. That's not unusual for me.
I have been trying to figure out how to contact "The myLot gods". I have a few questions. I want to know the logic behind some of their guidelines...
Why can't we post recipes??
Are the guidelines really "guidlines" or are they "rules".
Some of the guidlines aren't very specific. Are we to use our own judgement.
Why can't we have a suggeston box? I saw a discussion as a suggestionb box. I thought that was a great idea.
Can I get a job as a myLot god??
I'd love to be the gal who has the power to delete or not delete a discussion!
Does anyone else here have any wacky ideas of the purpose of myLot or is it just me?

You would like to be the one who deletes discussions? Well you can always surf from memeber to member looking at their discussions etc for guideline violations and report them. That would get a lot deleted. There have been and I feel still are some members that do that here. Now being a mylot "GOD"? Hmmmm? Is their such a thing here really. I have tried contacting them about various things and have a really hard time getting any type of reply unless it's along the lines of some type of violation question per say. I don't feel as though it's a "big brother" type of aspect but we do need to know that there are many thousands of people, members and staff alike, that see what we write here. So it isn't a private type of ordeal discussing things. Now I am babbling on. Hahahaha!! The guidelines are that, "guide" meaning that it sin't a "rule" in actuality. They don't want it to read rules as that seems like an "order" to some people. I like the term guideline much better than rule personally. I am done babbling and I got lost and sidetracked as well.

I try my best to avoid the possible deleted discussions as well. I also hate them dam glitches when ya type away then ZILCH! Blank page appears.

Wow you have a VERY VERY wacky imagination, as you said above xD i agree with you totally!
I think myLot is a great place for entertainment and socializing as well as earning money out of nothing!! given the fact that myLot generates money for hard working myLotters like ourselves xD (including me) i would not call myLot moderators "GODS" since it is just overrating them. I mean the work they do for us is great, letting us earn a decent amount but dont get too exagerated...

First of I believe the mylot gods are on vacation, 90% of the time and it is only when we report something do they go into action. or if you use a word they have listed under NO NO's that we ever hear from them. I know that if a lot of people decide some one needs to be smarten up they will give negative ratings and thus cause that person to lose ratings. as for the money I have several open discussions underway and have earned a grand total of about 23 cents this week. so I am well on the road to riches lol. I believe that there are certain mylotters that do have ways and means to get what they want accomplished, and some of them break every rule in the book. So I can not answer you query, and as for the mylot gods, no worship coming their way from this lady. neither respect not willing to help either. I have reported so many rule breakers that I spent more time doing that than posting, and all it has gotten me is a big fat zero. so that is what I am returning to them. I believe in taking care of my own, So I guess like you I am not considered, unless it is to be bashed. and He// I am used to that.

Hey, neat little story. I shop on Amazon.com a lot and I have noticed several times that at the bottom of the screen, Mylot will be mentioned as a place to go and find product reviews and the lastest fashions and things like that.
So you will be happy to know that Mylot gets around the internet. Actually, I am surprised that more people don't know about and work on my lot than do.

I don't have any idea how or why Mylot does what ever it does. I am just a fish in the Mylot fishbowl, looking for a few grains of bread.

I think your wacky thoughts/ideas are very insightful. I just hope the powers that be take the time to read this discussion and perhaps, if we are lucky, act on them.

You have been baking too long in that hot Miami sun...lol. The real purpose of this site is to make the owners money. We are just byproducts of that purpose. I am sure you could become a mylot Goddess if you were to pass the test. As of yet, none of us know what that test is because they won't tell us...lol As long as people keep joining this site, things won't change too much.

good questions. I am also wondering, like has anyone ever even spoke to an administrator or whatever the mylot gods call themselves. Where are they? I know other sites the creators and administrators make themselves known. But I won't question too much, I like the site and I'm having fun even though I only have one friend on my friends page.

You can't post recipes? I think that's a little weird. I think it's odd that you can't post a lot of things, or that you can't paste until you've reached 500, I know it prevents spam and things like that, but it's going to make people try harder to get to 500 then and then they're going to do it anyway.
