Hi I have epilespy. I am 26 and just diagnosed with it 1 year ago. I am on Lamictal. I liek it a lot. At first I would get really bad headaches almost everyday for the first 2 months - but I don't get them much anymore. It is the newest medication for epliepsy. It is funny - Lamictal is also used for bi-polar. Killing 2 birds with one stone :)

I too am on Lamictal but it is not working for me. Nothing has worked for me. I still have at least 4 if not more complex partial seizures a day. I don't have the grand mal seizures unless I miss my meds. My Doc has tried me on many meds but none have worked. What type of seizures do you have?

I had some grand mal seizures. Before I was diagnosed I was having the aura feelings. I am not sure if that is a type of seizure or not. I was only diagnosed a year ago. So I only had 4 grand mal seizures. Lamictal is working for me.
Did you try Keppra - I know that is a common med for epilepsy. I was actually on that for a few weeks.

I was diagnosed with Epilepsy at age 16, and now almost 30. I am on a very high dosage of Depakote (1,750 mg) a day. It has so many side effects, because of the side effects I have chose to work from home as working outside of the home has caused me many problems. My meds do work, however the side effects sometimes I wish they would put me on something different, it has caused me to gain a TON of weight, caused problems with my vision and has not caused me to have an immune deficiancy problem. I do have breakthru seizures still though sometimes usually every couple of years. My seizures are pretty severe when I do have them they are Grand Mall and last about 10 minutes or so. Takes me a long time to recover from one.
