i always respond to a discussion without reading the details, i think it is fine as long as the subject or topic is understandable. but there are also times that i read the details, specially when i'm not so busy. how about you?

I always read details fully before responding. I don't want to respond to something and not fully understand what the poster is talking about. I've had people respond to my discussions without reading what the discussion is about. And the people I've noticed that do this are always people trying to promote their websites. That makes me very mad.

I agree with you. I get so upset with people who respond without ever reading the full discussion. There has been a couple of times I have responded back to these people with "Did you not read the discussion?". I think most of those people are just here to make money and that is it. They could really careless about the actual discussion and making friends.

so you also got upset with me? coz i said that i'm doing that, responding without reading the details, but you know i'm not like people you've talking about, people promoting their websites. it's just that sometimes i don't have much time to read details, but i do when i'm so interested with the subject. and like what i have said in my discussion, i don't read details anymore if the subject is understandable, for example my subject, "do you respond to a discussion subject w/o reading the discussion details?" subjects like this,(for me)is already clear and answerable/repliable without reading the details. what do you think my friends? hope you're not upset with me anymore, this is just my opinion....

I wouldn't get upset with you as long as you aren't responding with something totally off topic. If there are topics like you suggested that are easy to figure out what the discussion is then go for it I guess. I would at least skim through a little bit to make sure the subject is what the topic is really about though.

No! I always read the discussion. I want to make sure that I fully understand what the topic is about. I have started many discussions were I have received responses that have nothing to do with the topic because it seems like the person never bothered to read the discussion. I can't see how some can just go by the discussion topic and understand what the discussion is really about.

No, I never respond to a discussion without reading the details fully, because the heading doesn't always pertain to the actual discussion, then you respond out of context and are marked down for it. I would far rather read the discussion properly and ensure that my response was in the correct meaning.
