There is different styles of IP addresses.
The one you are looking for probably is the "internet" one.
You can find it by going: http://whatismyip.com or http://ipchicken.com
Its really the same which site you pick.
Then there is other type of IP which is called "local". It usually starts 192.168 and is used for example LAN games which means that there is atleast 2 computers linked into same modem or LAN box.

Two types of ip address we are using:
1)Internal ip address
2)External ip address
If you want to check your internal ip address on Windows use the following methods:
1)start-Run-cmd-type ipconfig
2)If you want to check your External ip address you can visit this site
Here you can search ip,IP Location,Country,Latitude and Longitude details and etc.
IP-Details.com, Search and find ip address's,domain name host's whois information including city, country, global latitude & longitude coordinates.
