Or is it just on responding to & creating discussions? I see alot of ppl stating to say thank you to those who post on your discussions, but the response number does not go up.

I don't think you do get credit for it because it is your own discussion and making lots of comments on your posts is not a great idea. Once you think you got your answer, you can just say thank and whatever you want to say so they know that you are present. I did something like that before so they do know that you are still on that topic and you need help. I hope this will help you for a little while. At the mean time, bye.

I'm not positive, but I think that responding helps bump your discussion up the list. And that draws more people in to respond.

I agree. But, not on your own posts.

I agree as well as long as it is on someone elses post or replies. You do not get credit for commenting on your own posts. Not too long ago I saw my points go up two sometimes three points for commenting on another persons comment.

If it is a comment on one of your posts you do not get credit for it. It is just a nice thing to do thanking people for their comment on your post.

There was a message in the MyLot guidelines states that people will not get paid or credit for thanking people for replying to their discussions. They felt that was cheesy. But I did notice that if I make a comment on someone elses comment in another persons discussion that my rating would go up a point, sometimes more.

Well I don't know for sure. I have noticed on ones where I have done a lot of commenting back and forth, in other people's discussions, that I have still done very well earning wise. I don't know if it adds or not but I figure I'm not here just for that but for fun and sometimes it can be a lot of fun commenting and discussing things with people.

I'm not sure how the earning works but will respond to people who post in my discussion so that they know I've read and rated it. Even if I don't get paid by mylot, my friends know that they are appreciated......that's more valuable than money. :)

responding to one's own discussion doesn't count.but saying thanxs to other members who responded or something relevant to the reply and hence making the discussion a longer one is a part of showing our appreciation to the response.

You get Credited, and paid only when you Start New discussions or respond to other peoples posts. But it is important to respond back to people who answer your discussions, as that helps keep the discussions at the forefront, so more people will hopefully choose to respond to them.

I'm not sure about the payment algorithm on that, but I know you get credit for everything you do here. How much credit, I don't know. I like to encourage everyone to fully participate in this site. But, if all you can say to someone on your own discussion is "thank you" then it's better if you do not comment at all. But, if you really have something you would like to add, please do. The main problem I have is people who NEVER comment on any discussion they start, not even a little.

I read from some people that you if you type more than 10 comment you been paid.Of course when I say comment I don't mean a simple thanks or only one words. As my dear friend *simplesue* said your friend and anyone response to you like see your comment so this is the important an not the earnings....
