I am assuming that you are referring to Alzheimer's, and although I don't personally have any family members with Alzheimer's, I do know a very nice older man who comes around with his brother and their friend. He has Alzheimer's, and doesn't know what he is doing much of the time. I wish I could give you better advice on how to cope with it, but just do your best to be understanding. I know that it must be frustrating for you.

I am not sure what condition your uncle has but the meds might help. Give them time. In the meanwhile though, I would be as supportive as you can. As unsure of yourself as you are, try to imagine yourself in his shoes.
Listen to what the doctors and nurses tell you and go by that. They have probably been through this many times and know the best answers.
I hope you find a good way to cope with what has to be a terrible time. Take care.
