My baby only has 2 teeth on the bottom, but she has 4 on top with 2 more coming in on top. That would be 2 on the bottom, 6 on the top.Wierd... Any ideas for pain other than teething tablets or oragel. (She also doesn't like cold)

I heard the bottom 2 front ones come in, then the top 4, then the next 2 front bottoms, then they start coming in from the back but i don't think it really matters. If you're in the states, then there are things like baby tylenol i think you can take - we have infants panadol here but i dunno if you have that brand there. My daughter also liked to have a pacifier to gnaw on or a warm bottle of milk also helps coz she's not keen on the cold things either. Does she like Ice Cream? If so, try a little of that if she's hurting, that should do the trick - or you could even try a ribber or soft plastic toy she can chew on, that'll help the pain!

Oh, i had a friend whose little girl had her 4 front ones (2 top & 2 bottom) & then they came from all over the place, they just come when they're ready i guess.

there is a pattern that most babies follow but many do not. My oldest 2 followed the pattern but my last 2 did not. My 4yo didn't have any teeth when she turned 1 then a few days later she had all 4 upper teeth break through at one time. A couple weeks later the bottom 2 came in. With my last baby she got the bottom middle ones then the far left, then middle left, the middle right and then far right ones on top. Then she got the other bottom ones and now is getting her first molars. She is almost 15 months.

I always gave my kids a washcloth that had been rinsed in water to chew on. That way it didn't dry out the gums and it was soft to chew. I wouldn't worry about the teeth coming in like that. You can always ask at the next doctor visit. I also used the baby tylenol. It seemed to help on the bad days.

Do not worry about this. They are perfectly fine. They look cute. They will feel like chewing something. Give them something soft to chew. It gives them relief. Note this : Clean or wipe baby's teeth with plain water every day specially before sleeping. Don't let milk remain on the teeth for long hours which is really bad for the baby. My baby is 2+ yrs old and he underwent root canal surgery under general anesthesia. The doctor put cap for 6 teeth so that there is no gap and his speech is not affected. Really a painful experience for mothers.
