Life begins when you are born. The ups and downs of life maybe will start at adolescent stage where teens are curious of a lot of things. Sometimes it's really hard to deal teens because they have their own belief and they think they're right with out even thinking the consequences in life if ever they commit mistakes. AS mush as possible parents should keep an eye with our teens, know their friends and don't push them too hard, let them feel that they're loved and important to you.

It depends on family background. If we need not to support family then this age limit may be more. There are many family who needs children's support in many ways in that case your statement is true. Otherwise life starts at the age of 22 really. At the age of 17, we are not enough matured mentally as well as phisically. If we are not matured enough then how we can start our life at our own. My observation is that till 22 age, we need parents' support to stand at our own. As at this age we complete our graduation at least and we are able to do job independently.
