As a writer what kind of writing do you prefer? What is your best preference and why?

I love to write fiction but I never manage to finish anything. I'll get a great idea and it will just fizzle out. I even have the first chapter and an outline for the next three ready. I just can't get past the desire to make it right the first time so I keep mulling it over in head instead of just writing! I've discovered a lot of enjoyment in writing articles - non-fiction pieces less than 750 words. It's long enough to explore a specific topic but not enough to be intimidating. I have dozens of those published on the web and plan to write plenty more. But it's not where my heart lies, as a writer.

I enjoy writing creative nonfiction the most. I think I do my best writing then, but I also enjoy poetry.

I am not a journalist, I am a storyteller. So I prefer to write stories - short stories and novels. I also like poetry. But I am not one for writing articles.
