I do think children are growing up faster these days. You will notice this via the schools, legal marriage laws age, charging someone as an adult for crimes, etc. The schools themselves allow you to drop out at a younger age, you can legally get married younger than 18, if you commit a crime under 18 you face adult sentences... I do believe the legal adult age needs to be lowered. A 16 year old can be considered an adult, they can get a job, make decisions, and do know what they want. More, More parents are booting these 16 year olds out of the house, more are getting emancipated , etc.

No, I don't think it should be lowered. It should be raised to 21.
True children are acting more like adults at a younger age, but notice I said acting. They do drop out of school, drink, commit crimes...do those sound like the actions of a mature person? I don't think so. I think children are not being raised with values and have more freedom than they should at younger ages.
I think children should be better supervised by their parents and their parents should be responsible for them until they are truly grown and ready to be adults.

Thank You for your response... Crime is a big problem,, but many so called adults, majority do the same thing, look at our jails and prisons.. Have you ever gone faster than the posted speed limit, you broke the law....You could have had an accident and someone got hurt...
Just an example... Many people break all kinds of laws... just most don't get caught do to shortage of peace officers.
