Would you the premium gas which is a lot more expensive, or would you continue to get the cheapest gas?I'm not sure such exactly which I would do if I was rich. Supposedly the premium gas is better for you engine, so I might spring for the expensive stuff. Then again, even if you are rich and money is no object, why pay more for something than you have to?

The only difference between premium and regular is that premium burns more easily, therefore your car would accelerate faster. As you mentioned, it is also better for the engine (over many years). If you were rich, you wouldn't be driving so you won't realize how well your car responds when you press on the gas petal (because you'll have a driver) and you wouldn't worry too much about a car (because you can buy a new one) :P

I am not rich. The instruction manual for my car says I can run it on regular or premium, either way. I have decided to buy always premium gas for my car. I treat my car good. For me to buy the cheap gas means being too frugal. I treat my car like a baby. It was brand new when I bought it and I want to have it for many years.

Even if I was rich, and I had a car, I would stick with the cheaper gas because if I wanted the premium gas, I would have gotten it before. I think it is all the same thing, but it is the quality of it.
