friends

Is it important for you to have a lot of friends on sites like mylot? I'm kinda torn. While I want a bunch of friends who are interested in the same things I am, I'm not really a social person. This being said, I'm afraid that if I do get alot of friends that I will let someone down by not responding to something they've said. I think I'm also afraid of being rejected. Like, if I ask someone to be my friend and they say no. Then I'm wondering well what's wrong with me? Did I say something offensive to that person? Does anyone else have similar dilemas?

First off welcome to mylot. Now I am really torn between having lots of friends being important for two reasons. First reason, when it comes to responding to discussions I can see how having lots of friends would be benefical. It opens up many doors to having lots of discussions within your interests to respond to. So yes as far as responding to discussions, having lots of friends is important. Second reason, when starting your own discussions I don't really see how having lots of friends really helps. I have around 60 friends and only about 10% ever respond to my discussions. And normally its the exact same people who respond everytime. So having lots of friends has not really benefited me as far as starting discussions. Now if any of my friends are reading this, if you are one of whom do respond to my discussions I thank you dearly. But I just don't see having lots of friends being important when starting discussions. Best of luck!

I agree with you and thank you very much for the welcome. While it is nice to have lots of friends I think I would rather stick with the friends that I feel would be true friends. Like the saying goes it's quality not quantity.

Dear mejluvya Seems like you are new to my lot .. A warm welcome to you on mylot .. Don't worry about adding friends .. for me I have seen that everybody -- accepted my request for friendship and I never received any kind of disapproval for that .. It means mylot community is so generous and all members are always ready to make friends. I am glad to be a member of mylot .. Happy mylotting :)

thank you so much for the welcome and you are right, so far everyone that i have been on contact with on mylot is super nice and i haven't had any negative experiences here.
