You believe in Santa when you were child?..I know it's not Xmas yet..but my kid happened to mention it awhile ago about what gifts he wanted for Xmas..yes at this time of the year..And he surprised me by saying Santa is not real! I wonder where he learned this from..I thought all kids believe in Santa..?And I never mentioned to him about Santa being a legend or exist or fake before. He is just 5 yr old.

No way. I'm going to let them believe what they want. I still believe in the spirit of Christmas. My kids are 7, 5 and 2 and I feel that's the best part of Christmas (what Santa will bring). Even after my parents knew we were old enough to know differently they still hid the presents until Christmas morning.

Wow, 5 years old that is young to find out that Santa is not real. I have a total of three kids and only one of them knows the truth. That is my stepson who is 10. He just told us right before Easter this year. He had a tooth come out while he was at his moms house. We asked him how much the tooth fairy had left him. He said "Oh, you mean my mom." We were stunned and didn't know what to say. Then he says, "I know about the Easter bunny and Santa as well." By this point we were speechless. So we asked him if he was mad at us for telling him all these years that they were real. He said no but that he had know for about 2 years now.
As for my other two kids who are 3 and 4. I plan on letting them figure it out on thier own as well. My stepson has even said he will play along so that way they don't figure it out to early.

No, I never told my child that Santa is not real. I always said: if you say so. I believe in Santa Claus. I think the children all find out sooner or later but I kind of always kept the mystery. I always say Santa brings the presents. I just ignored the doubts.

I've always planned on telling any children that I would have the real story behind Santa Claus, but if they chose to believe in him because of their friends I wouldn't tell them that he wasn't real. I would rather my daughter know that Saint Nicolas was a real person, but the Santa Claus we know is for fun.
