How did Your significant other proposed you??

It was my 21st birthday. We went to a really nice resturant and from behind me I saw flickering lights. I turned and I saw one of the waitresses bring over a cake and I looked down at the cake and it said Will you Marry me instead of Happy Birthday. It took me a second to comprehend what I had read. I looked up and my husband was crying and he had the ring in his hand. Everyone at the resturant was clapping and aweing. It was really sweet.

My husband and I had already decided we would get married, but we wanted to "proposal" to be at the first place we went on a date. We already had the ring, so I grabbed it, handed it to him, and we went to Seven Falls in Colorado. The anticipation was huge. We were both a little nervous. He made me climb to the top of the stairs on one side, which I hated doing, but I thought for sure he would propose up there. We got to the top, and he was like, "well, we're up here, time to go to the other side." So we went back down. We then climbed up the other side, which actually has a deck-like thing and more room. So he gets down on his knees, and very, very slowly opens the box. No ring. We were laughing so hard (I am a very forgetful person, have ADD and such, and we had 2 ring boxes - I didn't bother to check to make sure I had the right box). We went back down to the bottom and were walking towards the car. He said he was thirsty and asked me to go get him a bottle of water while he got the car started. I bought the water, and went back to the car. I was getting in the car, and making some smart-alek remark about how silly I was, when I looked over at him and he had the ring out, and asked me if I would marry him. I was so surprised, I couldn't say anything. He told me he did this, because he felt there had to be some sort of surprise with it. :o)
