To Pray or not to Pray

June 30, 2007 3:27pm CST
I was listening to the radio the other day and the presenter opened with the discussion of prayer... 1. do you pray? 2. what is the point in praying? 3. have you prayed and received positive answers to your prayers? 4. do you really believe in praying or do you think i's a waste of precious time? I do pray, though not as much as I would love to but it is my way of keeping sane in a mad world. I use that time to reflect and pour out my heart to one who ( i believe) listens. So, what are your thoughts?

i pray. the point is in praying you can keep in touch with yourself and your God. It's not about asking alone but its an aknowledgment that you are grateful of life given by GOD. and yes i believe my prayers are answered, it may not be instantly but its gradual. I dont think its a waste of time because its a time to relax and a time to refocus your energies and thoughts to your inner self. in effect a better energy flow and a positive feeling.

Yes I pray and we should pray. God first talked to the patriarchs like Abraham then to the prophets but nowadays, we are now in the Christian era, God speaks through His Son and the Lord Jesus has His New Testament which is the word of God and so if we like to know what God is telling us, we have to study the Holy Bible. On our part, we talk to God through prayers and also singing. So God commands us to pray unceasingly and also to sing spiritual songs, and hymns. Prayers are never answered NO but if not now, wait. So let's keep on praying.

Of course, I choose to pray. Praying is a great source of personal and worldly peace. It helps you unwind and see the beauty of the world. It opens to a lot of things. It lets you communicate with God fervently and seriously. Imagine that, it is the only way to be with God for a while amidst our busy schedules daily. It's an armor against evil and temptations.

I do pray before going to bed and sometimes when I visit the church. Well, I just need to have someone to listen to my inner most thoughts. Prayer for me is a way to show your appreciation for your blessings, ask forgiveness for your shortcomings, reassure you when you think your world is falling apart and being truly honest to yourself.
