This is not limited to distance. Sometimes even a block away can seem like 1000 miles.

The farthest is around 10,300 miles..around that. My home right now is in United States, but my parents and most of my family is in Indonesia, and at least every 2 or 3 years always go back and forward...

I love Indonesia! I've been there to visit once in 2002. I was in Sumatra for about two weeks. Such a beautiful country.

My entire childhood was spent away from home. I didn't have a home in that time, just one unsafe place after another that I was jostled between. So for me that was a time in which I was far away from home in that I didn't even know there was a home for me somewhere, or that I would someday find it. As an adult I have created my own home, in a place where I am safe and have loved ones. I feel like I could travel around the world now and still carry that home with me. =)

I'm so glad that you now have a place to call home and that you get to share it with people you love. It's usually where those loved ones are at that is home anyway right? I hope you get to travel and take those you care about with you! :)

The furthest away from home I've ever been was in 1990 when my mother, my grandfather and I went to Denmark for three weeks. It was a great trip, and we had a wonderful time. I'd love to go back again as soon as possible.

I've never been to Denmark, but I would love to go there. I want to visit as many countries as possible. Three weeks is a good length of time to be somewhere so you can a decent view of the place.

Since you aren't limiting this by distance...The farthest away from HOME I've been was the night I sat in my living room packing my husband's suitcases because we were separating for good. He was going to be back from work any minute and I wanted to have everything ready for him. One last act as "his wife" I guess. I couldn't tell you how far away I was but it must have been far because I've spent the past 6 years trying to get back to where I was before.

I can't imagine how hard that must have been. I am sorry you had to go through that. I hope you find your way back home. Don't give up! Thanks for sharing.

The furthest I have ever been is from London, England to Auckland, New Zealand on plane. I stopped off in California, French Polynesia and the Cook Islands to break the journey up a bit.

Those around the world trips are the best! Breaking up the flight is so nice too. I can't stand the 13 hour flights! I would have loved to been on that trip!! :)

The fartherst i've been from home was an Island called Fernando de Noronha. It's a piece of heaven in earth! Natural pools.. isolated beachs.. Amazing place to be. Oh, it's in Brazil!

The farthest was 1972 when I had to move for one year to the United States. I hated it there, such a poor country. I was so homesick. I saved every penny to get back home to Germany. After a year I bought a plane ticket back home and I am still happy I am back. Sometimes I still think about the poverty in the US.

Some parts of the US are poverty stricken, but as a whole it is not. What part where you in, if I may ask? Germany is a great country and very beautiful. I don't blame you for wanting to go back home.
