Frugal Wedding Gift Idea

A bed tray is a great wedding gift. Admit it, it would be used more times than we care to admit. You can write a note about serving one another in love, birthdays, anniversaries, sickness, mothers day, a hard day etc. I would have loved to have a bed tray many times when I had surgery or on those days when the kids or my husband was sick and soup was served in bed. You could attach the following poem or make one of your own.
A Bed Tray
There is nothing like a wonderful Tradition
to start a life just perfectly so,
And here’s a little tradition for you,
We hope will grow and grow,
First it’s used for a Honeymoon,
then a birth or two.
A Special Anniversary
or a day that someone is just feeling blue,
A Birthday and then
on Mother’s day
Let’s not forget loveable Dad.
Put them all together
and it is a Tradition you’ve just had.

thats a good idea...hubby and i are going to a wedding this coming friday...
hubby is the sound guy for our church so we naturally get invited to a lot of weddings...we usually either give a picnic basket or our favourite gift which is a large, nicely decorated ceramic bowl and we either give them popcorn and a gift certificate for several movie rentals or a bowl with all the fixings for a pasta meal...
this is a nice gift yet not too expensive to give

You sound like me. I love to give gifts that are going to be used but yet not cost an arm and a leg. I think your daughter will love giving this as well. I would have loved to have received one as a wedding gift back when I got married. We purchased our own. LOL

What a lovely idea. I would have never thought of that one. Many times in a married couple's lives they find the need for a bed tray and don't have one.

My favorite wedding gift was from my husband's mother, it was a wooden decorative bed tray, or lap tray. Mine has a cute scene printed on it. One year I am going to make one for each of my kid's households, possibly a little bigger than the one I have, but definitel wooden, and definitely decorated.

that is a great idea!
I have one myself but never thought about it in that way, maybe because it was always there LOL
I really think the poem is beautiful and a great addition to the gift itself.
I've used mine countless times for all the reasons you describe - sickness, special days, etc. and I know for sure that it's something that will be used over and over again.
ANothe great tip villageanne:):)

This is a sweet idea, especially with the note attached. Where do you buy bed tray?
