Do you ever go through the list of discussions with no responses?

I usually start with these discussions and then I'll go to the last page of them to see how long it's been since the discussion was written. I feel bad for the members who's discussions have been there for hours and sometimes, if I have anything to say I'll respond to one or two. But doesn't it make you realize just what you shouldn't start a discussion on? I look at some of them and wonder why they even wrote it! Granted, most of them are new members and not aware that the ol' one line is not going to get them any responses. Not to mention the ones who just ask a question like "do you like" or "have you seen". For me it's a real eye opener and I know enough not to start discussions anything like those. What do you think when you check out the discussions with no responses? Do you ever check them out?

Do you know where did I find your discussion? That's right. I found it in the Discussions with no responses. I like to check it and be the first one to reply discussions. I feel sorry for members that get no responses, so I am humble and share my opinion with them. But, sometimes there are stupid discussions, aren't there? I'm pretty sure you already found some of them at the Discussions with no responses list.

I'm happy to know you found mine at all! It got you here didn't it? Giving us both the opportunity to add to our earnings. It doesn't matter where the discussion is as long as it gets members interested enough to respond.

Yep, you stole my words: it doesn't matter where the discussion is, as long as it gets others attracted enough to respond to it. Your discussion got me, I must admit. And now, we both earned something!

I feel bad for the members with no replies. Regardless if the topic interest me or not, still earning to post.

That's interesting. So your saying a discussion with no reply from six months back could be deleted when replied to ?

That's not necessarily true. If you respond to a discussion that only asks a one line question it may be deleted and you won't get credit for your response.

I used to do it all the time. I will admit I don't as much now as I just don't have as much time - or insist I don't spend as much time on mylot and do other things also.

Yea I was figuring it would slow down with summer so I started accepting 'friends requests' that I wouldn't have a few months ago. I'm having a problem responding to all of my friend's discussions right now :(

With summer here a lot of members don't spend the time they used to here. I try to jump on every now and then but with all that's going on in my life it's not easy.

Yup all the time after I am done with my friends discussions. I answer as many as I have time to answer, some easy, some not. I think thats how I get lots of friends request because I answered a newbies discussion. It really depends on my mood and if I feel like answering the basic questions they ask LOL

I think I have received friends requests by being the first to respond to one of them also. I guess it's a good way to add to our list huh?

Sometimes i have a look, but not that often. I am flat out with my friends discussions. Some i wonder why they have even started it. Others can be interesting. But, new ones, as you say, are not sure what is best and whats not. Best wishes to you

I hope i didnt sound mean or anything, but i meant that in the new discussions, mainly by new users, there are sometimes disscussions only a couple of words or more long, and i dont understand them. They are not ones from my friends lists. Hope this clears it up. Best wishes to you.

I'm wondering what you mean by "why they have even started"...not friends I'm sure. The reason for the friends is to have people that we have common interests with helping us find discussions to respond to.

Yes, I do. But I find people just want an easy answer. No one really wants to discuss anything important on here. It's frusterating to try to come up with a discussion that people will respond to. I am getting bored in here.

Don't give up so easy. There are a lot of good discussions to respond to! Now that summer is here I'm sure they will be harder to find but they will appear. Like everything else it takes time. Good luck here on mylot.

I have found that discussion I think are good topics sometimes end up to be the ones with only one or two responses. It's a real job finding interesting topis for over 99,000 people isn't it?

Yes there are many that are there as a great example of what not to post. However I do find some really good ones in there that just got passed up. Either they were asking for too long of a response or they just got lost in the shuffle. These are like treasures to me. It sometimes depends on the posters’ friends and whether or not they are pulling up their posts. The more a post is seen, the better chances it won't get buried. 3 months ago the 56 friends I had, I never had a post go unanswered regardless what I posted. Now, with close to 100 friends, I am lucky to get any responses. Most of my older friends who were loyal have departed mylot and the new ones are not interested in my posts. So this can be a reason for some of them going unanswered. I go to the No Response section on a gold hunt and I tell ya, I find many there.

I love the way you refer to it as a "gold hunt" because your right. There have been times that I've responded to more no response discussions than anything else. Very helpful at times.

Usually I try and respond to my friends discussions first, then if I have time after going through all of theirs I will go to the ones that have no responses.

It sounds like you have a system going and that's great. I try using systems all the time and they never work for me. I get side tracked easily.

I usually spend most of my time responding to discussions with no responses yet. But lately, I'm having a hard time finding one worth commenting to. The quality of discussions being posted are deteriorating. I often find myself looking at the top discussions to check out really interesting topics. I have never tried moving forward to the next page though. I only browse topics on the first page. Cheers! Happy Posting :)

It seems to go in spurts. Either there is nothing I can respond to or there are a lot. Rarely a happy medium. I just keep searching until I find an interesting subject.

Hello, ctrymuziklvr,i only have time to reply to people on my friend list but not the discussions with no responses, but i do see some of the discussions with no replies, just like what you said, some of them are just questions which people can reply with one words or so without any explnations,as people now know they are not going to get any credits for those replies, they tend to skip those discussions.

I'm sure it's only the newer members who don't realize the credit part of mylot. Most seem to think all they have to do is write something and they get paid...NOT

Yes I do try to go and check them out. I do those discussions last. I try to do my friends discussions and then the most recent discussion in the more popular topics. Then if I still haven't done the amount of responses I wanted to do for the day I will go to the no responses discussions and try to answer some of them. You are right seeing some of those discussions really gives you a taste of what works and what doesn't when it comes to starting new discussions. Best of luck!

It's sad to say but there are time I can't even find a discussion I want to respond to in my friends. I try to pick friends by interests and there are times it just doesn't work.

I used to see and reply them when am a newbie here.Even some of my discussions are of 2 to 3 liners when i join. After some practice and making new friends i learnt to post descriptive as possible. Now whenever i see some mylotters posting always 2 to3 liners and while responding to their discussion i tell them to post descriptive as possible. Now i dont have time to see the discussions with no responses but if i dont find a response for my discussion started for some minutes i will tend to go and check my discussion is in no responses tab LOL

It is sad but those people probably need to figure out mylot guidelines and realize what they did wrong in the beginning. Then they will start discussions that will get responses.

Sure, quite often. I usually go trough my friends discussions first, then the hot or top topics, and if I still have some more time here I will go through the new discussions and the ones without responses. Sure some discussions have no answers for a reason. The topic, the way they were written, etc. But sometimes they were just posted at a time where there isn't that many people here and then get left behind. It happened to some of my discussions too. So when I can I answer those as well, specially because the authors will not be able to resolve the discussion until there's at least one response. For example I was looking into information about a particular city in here - canada - and posted a discussion. Unfortunately nobody responded and now I can't resolve that one. It's the only one that I wasn't able to resolve. On the other hand, sometimes we find many discussions that there is no even a way to respond. Can't do anything about those :)

Yes, I do go to the list of discussion with no responses. I try to respond to any that I can relate to. I find, like you, that alot of them are new users. Although not always. But I do go through there and try to respond to any that I can. Glad to know I am not the only one who does this.

Yes. I do scan through the discussion that have no responses and give them some responses. Im interested in knowing why some discussion have no responses at all. Either they should not be interesting or posted at abnormal times and left unnoticed by the mylot users. Let my responses motivate those discussion starters for posting more discussions.

Yeah sometimes I do check them and respond to some of them as well. But I usually check the discussions started by my friends first when I get to mylot. I try to respond to as many of them as possible. Then I look at the days top discussions next and I respond to as many as possible there too. I then go to the hot topics section. Then when I still have the time and the strength, I look at at other sections including the one with no responses and respond to as many as possible there too.
