For me it really depends on what they did, and what their responsibility to me was. I can forgive a stranger for many things more easily than someone who was supposed to take care of me and harmed me instead. In my personal life there are many people who get upset with me for not having forgiven my family all the abuse I suffered at their hands, but from my perspective there is simply no way I could ever completely forgive them. I say "I am in the process of becoming more forgiving towards them", and that is how I see it. As long as I live I will treat them better than they have treated me, but they will never have the relationship to me that they would have had if they had been kind to me, because they have not earned that relationship.

I do forgive them instantly but I also keep away from them as much as possible. They can approach me for help or a chat and I will indulge them but that's as far as I go. I wouldn't want to keep company people who were once my enemies. I don't just like keeping any grudges in me. People are people..., there are those whom you're personality jives with and there are those who simply do not. Cheers! Happy Posting :)
