An Eighth HP?

I doubt it will be about Harry himself, but I do think it's possible that there will be a book about Hogwarts or the wizarding world. Of course, she will probably take a break after the release of the newest one.

She might surprize us since we think it is her last. Then again it may be her last. I hope she writes another series if she is done with Harry Potter. She's a great writter.

J.K. Rowling has said that she doesn't plan to do any more books about Harry Potter or any of the other main Hogwarts characters. She didn't rule out more books about Hogwarts, though, so maybe we'll see something about it in the future. Of course, if my theory is right and Harry ends up being the Defense Against The Dark Arts teacher there, I don't see how she could avoid him if she writes about Hogwarts then.;)

There is a possibility that there will be other books concerning the wizarding world, but none of these can count as an '8th book' considering there are already 2 other books concerning the wizarding world that aren't part of the series: 'Quidditch Through the Ages' and 'Magical Creatures and Where to Find Them'. So, technically, there are already 9 books written by Rowling... but the series ends with the 7th book. That has always been the plan and I'm rather sure she will stick to it. I think releasing more of those side-books would be nice though. Imagine if she decided to make 'Hogwarts: A History' into a real book?

I think it's inevitable that Rowling will write more stories about the Potterverse, but I think an eighth book is unlikely. Maybe she might write about some of the lesser characters, or maybe she'll write a prequel series about the life of Dumbledore or something. Or maybe, just maybe, she's sick of the whole thing and wants to write something different.

well jkr has said that she would write a 8th book. but it might be like an encyclopedia of the magical world and not a like a story book. and she has already told that if its a book them it will tell the story of people like the life of dumbledore, voldemort etc and that the proceedings from this book will go to charity.
