what is the role of the subtitute teacher?

the subtitute teacher is a person who teaches a school class when the regular teacher is unavailable because of illness or other reason.the qualification for subtitute teaching are usually not as strict as a regular teacher.some areas require a college degree and the successful completion of competency tests;others require only that the applicant possessa high school diploma or its equivalent.

yeah..........you got the point end up being a babysitter.i think it could be the nice idea that we have a subtitute teacher because it will not be the waist of time for student to wait until the regular teacher will back in the class.and it will not delayed in the lecture like what other section class or other student class studying.

I think they should too, the problem with that is I think that the student do not usually respect the substitute and they think they can walk all over them and they push the boundaries with a sub, more than they would the regular teacher, unfortunately I think that is why they have become this way. Hopefully, this will change. =)

The education here means not too much.There are many teachers who have education and dyploma, but they cant find a regular job.There are some of them who prefer to have just small number of lessons and for them it`s better to be subtitute.
I still dont know the idea of your discussion.

yeah..........i think subtituting they pay higher.and why mostly teacher cant find job,i think the country you are staying is no vacant for them to teach.b'coz in our country a lot of teacher which prefer to go back in school and school as a nursing graduate b'coz here you can work at the hospital earn a big amount.

Hi kilayko!!
When i was at school when a teacher is absent..The teacher of the same class or the other who is free with out any work is allocated..In my country they wont hire any special people for the post of substitute..Also some times if a teacher is absent we will be let to play games..So always we wish some one to absent..LOL..Thanks..

yeah......thanks also for posting,it depend in the country for our country were over populated and most likely teacher decide to go back to school and be a student of nursing,so we hire a subtitute teacher b'coz it is a waist of time if the student live to play outside the classroom while the teacher is absent and much better if you join to the class so that the teacher whom is absent it will not find hard in teaching the lesson you need to learn because you already has the idea.
