Do you like to walk on the right or left side of your loved one? When my son was small I always walked on his right side as he was safer to walk at the roadside. Now he has grown up and I always walk on his left hand side lol…I do like to walk on my hubby left hand side.

Most of the time I like to walk on the left side of my husband. That's because I feel comfortable to hold his arms in this direction.

Hi youless, I could imagine how intimate and romantic seeing you holding your loved one’s arm with your right hand walking on the shady path.

In our country,we usually keep to the right, this is traffic rules. So the most time i will walk on the left...... I know in the foreign, the most country's traffic rules is keep to the left, maybe they will walk on the right of their loved one. what do you think of?

Oh nope, fengbo, you do pay attention in this, as you always walk on the correct side to offer protection for your girl friend. Well, this is the correct way for a gentleman to show his politeness while going out with a girl. Have a nice day and happy postings here:)

yanstill, for example when you are walking with your mother, you walk on her left side as on her left side there might be lots of vehicles or pedestrians pass by. This might make her feel safer and comfy. When walking with your bf lol… he ought to be on your left so as to give you protection.

In my country the driving system is exactly opposite to yours. My country adopts right hand drive system whereas your country the left hand drives. So when I walk along the left side of the road, facing the coming vehicles my husband ought to be on my right hand side so as he could protect me lol. This shows the politeness of a gentleman too. In the other way woman too could protect man lol…

I love to walk on my loved one's left side to protect her/him. I have had the sense of protecting the others ever since I became mature. I think it my duty to do so.

I always like to protect my loved one, which are my family members right now. I would like to was at the right side of them while walking on the road. We hardly have footpaths here at our town. The vehicles run at their left so, for protecting them from these vehicles, I would always try to walk right to them!

Yeah, you have to be very careful and take good care of your loved ones, especially the small kids and the elder ones while walking on the busy road with heavy traffic. The safest way is to let them walk on the side farther from the road and we walk near the side where there might have vehicles passing by. Yeah the farther they are away from the busy street the safer they will be. Well, you are doing the job nice and fine to protect your family a real gentleman!

It was not until I saw a couple walking on the road. They put their kid to the nearest part of the road and most of the time, the kid was trying to avoid herself from being a victim of an accident. They were just careless from her side. This bring me the idea that we need to protect the kids and the older persons while walking on the roads. PS: You have started some really nice discussions. Thank you for that!

May be that they were trying to make that kid smarter by letting him have encounter with the passing by vehicles!

I always make sure they are further away from the road. This to minimize the risk of being run down by vehicles on the road. When I was young, my parents always walking on my right. Now I am walking on their right side. :)

Since the traffic in my country is left-sided traffic ways, then I should be walking on her right side in order to protect her from the hazard of the traffic.

Hahaha… 321633wy, now you finally know you are walking on the right side of your loved one … I always walk on the left hand side of my hubby by holding his arm or hand in hand. This might be due to I’m a right handed lol …. Walking on which side of our loved one is mainly depend on which side we feel more comfortable, right?

That's a really interesting question. I like to hold onto someone's right arm, so they are on my left. For whatever reason this works best for my balance, and when I am holding onto them, I have a better idea of how fast they are moving.

It depends... The "place" of honor is generally considered the right side. If I'm walking with my kids, wife or a friend, generally I'll be on the right side. The idea being, the right hand is free for quick action if needed. However, if I'm walking with my father, or elder then I'll walk on the left. These are just guidelines though, and will walk on the left if its safer for others. I'll normally take the more "problematic side"...along the street, or where there is more danger.

I dont mind walking left or right, so long as I am with my loved one. My son now is also grown up and walks with me, usually on my right, waits for me if he has walked fast, helps me climb the stairs etc. So, its just fine whichever side he is. My husband has become less attentive after soooooo many years of marriage.

Yeah ketybhagat, we always would feel content whenever we are together with our loved one. Who bother much about whether walking on which side of our loved one at that moment. I am really glad to know that your grown up son is willing to take care for his mom no wonder walking on the road or going up the stairs. You should feel proud to have such an understand kid. I think your husband would feel happy as well to see his son could take care of you. Yeah, it would be wonderful to see the two gentlemen to walk on either side of you intimately. Happy posting and take care.
