I love to swim, I go about every other day.Sometimes everyday. It is very good exercise. That is the only real excercise I get because I have a very bad back. The water takes the weight off my back, water therapy is real good for bad backs. How often do you go swimming?

I haven't been swimming for years - it's very sad coz i LOVE swimming & like you i have a bad back - i also have a bad hip so the water is awesome for me. I just don't have immediate access to a pool, the local pool here is only open over the hotter months & you have to wait too long to use it because there are kids swimming lessons on until early - mid afternoon. I think things will be great for me once we move house - i'd like to build our new home & make sure there's an inground pool out the back because as everyone has said, it's fantastic exercise & good for my sore body!

Yes, that would be great excersise for you, and good fun for the kids also. I would also hate to think of going to a public pool. we do however go to a amusement park/waterpark every other week, that is prety much fun.

I am glad you learned to swim, you need not go to a pool, some go to ponds, lakes, rivers, etc. It is fun none the less.

If I had a pool that was big enough to swim in I would swim every day. It is great exercise and least stressful on your joints.

It is very good excercise, and does hepl with the joints. My pool is no longer very large. At one time I had a large one, but could not do the upkeep any longer. But i still can swim in my smaller one.

I don't know how to swim.Iused to go and wade. But,now I have equalibrium problems and the movement of the water make's me dizzy. So,I don't wade much anymore.Maybe once or twice a year I take my daughter to a real nice indoor pool that has a shallow area and a hot tub.I enjoy that and she likes the water slide's and other play equipment.

Being in water makes me think alot. I can't go swimming yet because I recently had surgry. Last year, I did go swimming everyday, but I could only do this in the summer since my pool is outdoors.

Sorry about the surgury, hope you will be well real soon. I too think a lot in the water, that is what I like about it. I can only swim in the summer also, as my pool is also outdoors, I would love to be able to swim year-round!!

I used to swim all the time. Lately I haven't really. I miss it. I'd go every day if I could. It is very good for you in many ways. It is also very good aerobic work-out for your body. People with disabilities can especially benefit from swimming.

Well I love going to the beach, but it is so far away, I rarly get there, I do have a pool in the back yard, and also go to the water park every two weeks at least.I am disabled, and the water therapy really does benifit me.

I usually go swimming occasionally in the summer. The other seasons are really not as suitable for me to swim. During the other times, there's usually schoolwork for me. But when I go, it's very easy. Perhaps when I go to the local pool or to my cousin's house, I swim. Usually I play, but recently, I wade more. When I go to the beach, I stay near the shore and swim less because of the beaches. If I were still in Hawaii, I'd swim more often.
