for me i'm happy to care an adult, but for my first time i find difficult, but when know how to adjust and your learn to love your work you find easy and here in my role playing in life i find very happy because from my caregiver i learn how have patience and improve myself in dealing people, especially some adults are very strict because sometime in their entire life they feel alone and they depressed.and a lot of people i've encounter and makes me happy because the love you share to them even it is not your relative but you give them attention and make them life happy until the last breath of them.and you give the love that they never feel in thier entire life and you complete thier life even in a short time.

i am a caregiver too before, but my experienced was really bad. i took care of 2 kids ages 7 and 10 years old, 2 hamsters, 2 birds, 3 dogs and a very big house. They treated me bad, the kids hit me all the time and everytime i complain they only said to me "you are our slave". I can't even imagine how and why i last for 7 months in that house. one winter time one of their dogs scape they asked me to find it without even there are jacket, shoes and hat on. i almost froze that time. then, the second time the dog scape and the hamsters at the same time, i quited. My employer was really mad at me. i cannot stay longer in that house, i am always sick, i dont have food to eat. All the foods in the fridge she put tag on it "dont eat the food". I bring cookies and that's my food all week. They supposed to provide free food for me as written in the contract but no, I supposed to start my work 8 in the morning but i start 5 or 6 in the morning and I dont know what time i finish at night. If i put all the things happened to me that time, one day of writing is not enough, thats what happened to me when i was a caregiver.
are you a fipipina? where are you now, in canada or what country?

hi..bhelle i'am a filipina I'm here in the philippines now and i have planning also to go abroad and earn a big salary.you during our school time we learn from our teacher that we caregiver we have the right to complain about the work that are included to do in our profession.this things happen to you is not good and people treat you as animals, they dont think that the person or the caregiver they hired has a caregiver bills of right, for as caregiver we have the right to take care of ourself.this is not an act of selfishness.it will give us the capability of taking better care of my client.then to seek help from others even though my client may object.I recognize the limits of my own endurance and strength.to maintain facetsof my own life that do not include the person I care for,I knowthat i do everything that I reasonably can for this person, and I have the right to do some things for ourself.to get angry,be depressed, and express other difficult feeling occasionally.to reject any attempt by my client(either conscious or unconscious) to manipulate me through guilt, anger or depression.to recieve consideration, affection, forgiveness, and acceptance for what i do from my client for as long as I offer these qualities in return.to take pride what I'am accomplishing and to applaud the courage it has sometimes taken,to meet the needs of my client.to protect my individuality and my right to make a life for ourselves that will sustain me in the time when my client no longer needs my full-time help.to expect and demand that as new strides are made in finding resourcces to aid physically and mentally impaired older persons in our country, similar strides willbe made toward aiding and supporting caregivers.ihope it can help you bhelle.read it and understand and dont let them kick fight..they dont have right to make it and torturing us..

i dont work as caregiver anymore since then i quitted the job, that expeienced was really a nightmare for me. i even complain to the labor that time but the closed the case after my lawyer promised me to follow-up such case, but she never did. That lawyer also made my life miserable because she have all my papers such as work permit which is the most important thing here in canada as a worker under work permit. but she let it expire without doing nothing. I am hoping that if you will go abroad you can find a good employer not like mine. for now i am still here in canada but i dont have work permit in our terms "I AM TNT" i am not working for now, but i am waiting for my papers again.

Hello Ladies,
I am sorry you had such rotten clients..even with a contract people can be selfish. Finding the right ´fit´for an assignment and the family is part luck but also a process of educating each side. I am in Costa Rica. Can fipipina work in Costa Rica?
