I am the pill popper of the family. AND my headaches usually turn into full blown migraines if I don't nip them in the bud right away. So if a cool cloth on the back of my neck or on the forehead doesn't work, I hit the Excedrin Migraine bottle. You could try some of those, drink lots of water, and try to stay out of the heat as much as possible. There are other products that I could recommend, but they are a bit expensive and you have to order them from the companies because they aren't available in stores. I know at the GNC stores they have products that help with headaches, but I'm not sure what the names are.

You're my friend, and no matter what goes on in my life, I will not neglect you or any of the rest of my friends. My mama taught me that, and I firmly believe in it. What really helped my headache this morning was letting cool water run over the top of my head and the back of my neck. Maybe that might help you too hon.

Hi i had made a discussion similar to this a few weeks back because of my headaches.I got some great tips. Some said drink plenty of water or drink gatorade. That same day i got someone to bring me some gatorade to the house and i drank some and then layed down.My headache went away and i felt like a brand new person.Gatorade actually helps. My doctor told me it was tension.i changed my diet up to and stop eating so much fried foods and have been exercising since the discussion.I feel so much better. http://www.mylot.com/w/discussions/1101321.aspx
that is the discussion.Take care and i hope you find a remedy.

Thanks so much for sharing your discussion with me. I don't like Gatorade, but I bet I find something like it to try. I think my headaches could be from tension, so much of my life is changing right now. I'm glad you found something that works for you. I will to!

When I have headache, I just massage my temples, then go to sleep...if there's no relief that's the time I take medicines for pain releiver. Usually when I wake up, the headache is gone; sometimes when I have headache, I ask my daughter to take my BP; usually my BP is normal, but there are rare times that it shoots up to 150\80; my normal BP is only 120. They say apples can do wonders for headaches but have not tried it; also for motion sickness. No wonder the saying ' an apple a day makes the doctor go away' is popular....

A lot of times it depends on where I am at, and what I feel would be the Best solution to do at the time. What I will usually do when I feel a headache of any type coming on, is take some Aleve. This a lot of times will work well for me, unless I am getting a Migraine. When I get a Migraine, the best thing for me is to take 1/2 of a Hydrocodone and go lay down. But if I am somewhere where this is not possible, then I have to try to wait it out until I can go lay down.
As for your headaches, are they Heat headaches, Stress headaches, or a little of both?

I am lucky. I can take aspirin. There are many who can't take aspirin.I take it with food so it doesn't harm my stomach. For a headache caused by the heat, I take the aspirin with a little food and I lie down. The problem is when I have been out in the heat too long, I can get a headache and I am nauseous so I can't eat after the aspirin, so I usually lie down.
