How did he propose??

Well, I'm the guy, so I hope you don't mind me sharing what happened. = ) First of all, I must say, plans for any major event need to be flexible. I was originally going to cook dinner for her, Crab Cakes and some linguini with Pesto sauce. Well Liz decided she wanted to cook, so we compromised and went into the kitchen together, and cooked up the meal.. (Actually it was a lot more fun doing it together.) I had Chicagos Greatest Hits Vol1 in the CD player, skipping 25 or 6 to 4 and letting the music set the mood. Well, Liz kept trying to get the TV remote and wanted to watch some crime dramas, so I kinda slipped it away and asked her if she minded if we just listened to the music and relaxed while we ate. After the CD completed, and we had finished eating, I started singing to her "Just You N Me" (one of the songs that had been on the Chicago CD we'd had on.) and got the ring out. She shouted "Oh my God, Oh my God" several times and well it took me asking more than once to get a coherent answer. = ) We'll be married on October 6th of this year.

Well...my intention was to do it very romantically on one knee, but during a previous conversation with some friends, she mentioned that if someone were to propose like that, they'd probably get slapped in the head. LOL Later that month, we were talking about getting married, but more as "testing the waters". Anyway, I picked out a nice 14K .75 carat with .50 carets of smaller diamonds. It wasn't much, but I kept to the basics, at least one -months pay and something that wasn't overbearing or too small. The problem was, I didn't know how to go about asking. So I choose to ask her on her prom and put the ring on 12 long stemmed red roses. Almost like a bundle for the roses. I even made sure the card was attached to the ring. On the card, I wrote "I would be honored if you accept this as a small token of my love and wear it for the rest of our lives". Due to logistics, she had to come over to my parents house to get ready and I gave her the roses...she read the note and said how lovely they were, but no answer. I asked if she had an answer and she said "I do have a question: how do I expect to wear roses?". If you look closely, you'll see how...then she asked "why did they bundle the roses in a metallic plastic clip...lol "I'll show you" and took the roses, removed the ring and knelt down and gave it to her (waiting to get a remark)...we laughed so hard and said later she never felt so embarrassed but did say yes... We've been married for 12 years, so the proposal must not have been that bad. She ranked the day up there as one of the best.

I was about to make a discussion about my situation..there is no need to now..my boyfriend..who is currently in jail sent a letter yesterday saying "if you are going to ride this sentence out with me, we might as well get married"..then called to make sure I got the letter..he asked me what I thought about it..I don't mind at all, I love him and want to be with him, but thats not exactly the way I saw me getting engaged...

I have yet not been propsed to, but I still had to tell you that I enjoyed this discussion. It is fun to see how much imagination people actually have when they really want to =) I am sure that my bf will be very romantic if/when he does propose =)

oh dear.. (giggles) hehehe.. he proposed infront of the groto, an altar of mama mary, infront of our friends.. i can't help but cry.. i creid because it was a tears of joy... of course, i answered yes then he kissed me.. ignoring everybody around us. it seems that we're the only people there... i always look back to it... he's so sweet!

Well lets see...He went to a party, I wasn't invited..I thought that was horrible..He said it was just guys so I was like okay..I took a shower and went to bed..He came home from the party, woke me up, and gave me my engagement ring and asked me to marry him...Then he took me to the party...It was an engagement party, all of our friends were there....How special...
