Earlier while attending some motivational talk by an Australian expert in the matter, I remember him talking about PMA (Possitive Mental Attitude) He pleaded that One's PMA is the base of his success. To be frank though I have this PMA for a certain extent, often I go cynic about things. Still I try my best to keep a PMA.
How about you? Do you keep a PMA while facing problems?
Do you always consider people in a possitive way?

Positive attitude helps us to optimize our life, and leads us to a better successful way .
I always try to adopt it as a way of my life in order to help me avoid from worry and being negative. However ,in reality life some times it doesn't work that way especially when i am in the emotional breakdown situation is hard to keep up with the positive attitude.

I don't think any body can keep the pma unintrruptedly. Some times we may fall because of the rush of tension and emotions, but once we are in self control we should resolve to check recurrence of such occurances. Optimism is a pre requisit of pma.
Thank you for the response.

I live by this. I always try to have PMA. Though here lately I haven't had much. I have a crippling back condition, that my doctor wants to do surgery on. I am not to thrilled, needless to say. I am scared of it and having a hard time keeping PMA.
Though I am trying to get it back. Don't know if I can, because I am having feelings I have never had before. Thankfully I haven't been left crippled from it as of yet, but have been temporary not been able to walk here and there. It is all new to me, so I can also so why I am having a hard time with PMA right now.

Ha avonrep, you surely are a wonderful person with PMA. I remember you wrote about your bad physical condition in that discussion of yours on gas prices. But has it gone to this extent of draining out of your confidence? It is not so avonrep, you are a very strong woman. You have faced worst situations in the emotional arena, I keep in rememberance of that villain who ran away and behaves in the most irresponsible way. What happened to him? Did he pay the amount, or did they put him behind the bars?
avonrep don't lose your confidence. Take deleberate attempts to keep your PMA rule your thoughts. This is a small obstacle. By the grace of God you will be ok after that surgery. I wish you quick recovery.

It takes practice to develope a PMA. The negatives will always want to creep in. Awareness of your thinking is important. When a negative thought comes into your awareness, you can let it pass and replace it with positive thoughts. I want to consider people positively, but this takes a lot of energy sometimes.

Your are abosolutely correct. I accept that PMA has a great role to play in our life. What we think becomes reality. Keepthing that your goal come tru and sure it will, I have experienced it. Just mane dake it a habit that you think about you achieving you goal for 10 days and one fine day you will be suprised to see that it all became. Dont thing I am joking. Meditation is one of the best aspects that should be simulataneous with PMA.
I have seen people who can bend a spoon with concentrarion. Its all will power and concertration that matters.
As you say, negative thoughr are sure to creep in , but it is all the test of time, you willingness to have a PMA a then will become stronger because you get to face more and more troubles to retain it. It is similar to the failures which become the stepping stone of success. Always have a PMA and you are sure to succeed. Good Luck !!!

I have learned somewhat late in life (34) that having the best positive attitude is much healthier. I do admit there are times, especially in my profession, that I may be a bit cynical. It is not negative, per se, more of a realistic outlook. Sometimes people do bad things, and no matter how well you treat them, they continue on their path of destruction. I just try very hard to leave all of that behind me when I go home. I had a not so wonderful childhood, and I have learned to let it all go. Be happy with who I am, and what I have become. Basically all on my own. So I do believe that a positive mental attitude can help your success, your life and your health.

You are right about your profession. You cannot swallow every word given by a suspect because we have a pma. There you have to apply some methods which may be unacceptable to outsiders. But that is part of your duty. Nothing personal about that, as far as you are within the limits of your jurisdiction.
Any way, from the abstract narration of your life, it seems that you always had that pma. Without that how could you over come the neglect or whatever of your childhood, and is quitely settled with the life you made for yourself? You are really having a pma. Thank you for the response.

I do think pma is a great philosophy to hold. My problem is that reality keeps getting in the way of it, life shows us it just doesnt work

I usually do keep a positive mental attitude on most things and when facing problems.
I was not always like that, and i did have my problematic years where i had a cynical attitude to life.
But at some point i realized that it does not help me, so i adopted the positive attitude, i admit it was not an easy thing.
But from that point on, i realized that life is easier,
and i am more happy and usually succeed in things that i do.
I recommend working on this attitude it does upgrade your whole life. :)

Wow! this could be the strongest medicine for the soul and mind. without it one could loss what you have in life or end it up in a bad circumstance. I bet you PMA cures more than one can imagine. i've faced a very great challenge in a foreign country and without the help of relations, without work not to talk of money, how to make a living. this hope, has taken me to a different level now and well, all thanks to God and friends i've never met before. "LOVE FOR ALL AND HATRED FOR NONE"
All for this positive mental attitude.

i think i just have it, haha!!^, and that is one good attitude one human or person should attain since being an optimistic type of person leads you in a better road, but being over in a way that you think you can do anything very good - sometime maybe it depends on the person - you became very not humble, quite so exceeding the line of humbleness, but being optimistic is really good but somehow should be balance with some pesimistic thoughts for you to predict a situation or see it in different views - and much better. Pesismistic in a way that if something bad may happen then you are ready and this somewhat will fall on being a strong person, accepting all the effects of what you did in a very good manner, thanks, ...!!^^

I understand your point. By keeping PMA and being optimistic we should not get overconfident and eventually begin to feel a sort of pride, which may endanger your wellbeing. That is true. Self confidence and optimism are good, it help us to develop PMA but we should be duely humble too. That is a nice observation.
Thank you rockingmom.
