This film is great! It teaches me a lot. I watch it once a yr, since it was on.
This is simply one of the best films ever made and i know i am not the first to say that and i certainly won't be the last.
What makes this film one of the best ever made is the message it conveys. It is one of eternal hope. Andy Dufresne, played by Tim Robbins ,has been sent to prison for a crime he did not commit. But he never loses hope. He never gives up his quest to become a free man again. His yrs of tenacity , patience and waits keep him not only sane, but it gives his mind and a spirit a will to live. This film has a different feel to it. There has never been anything like it before and i don't know if there will again.
What you think ?

Are you talking about the Shawshank Redemption? If so I love that movie, it teaches you no matter how bleak life looks right now, it will be better someday. I love how it was filmed and I love the cast as well.

The Shawshank Redemption is a wonderful story with great acting. The bond between Andy and Red is great. It's also very uplifting to see Andy escape and Red find him later.

Shawshank Redemption should be watched by every human being at least one time in their life. Andy never gave in no matter what happened to him. "Hope" is what everyone else in the prison lost but Andy held on to his. Right down to the point that he kept writing the letters in order to get more books for the library.
One of my favorite scenes is when Andy plays the music over the intercom system and everyone just stands silent listening to it. Except the guards that is. I have probably watched this movie well over 20 times to date and would watch it everyday if I could. Amazing script, plot and actors all the way!

I saw this film 3 years ago.My firend told me it was really a good film.I doubted it.When I began to see it,I found it was not as good as what my friend told. When it went to the last 15 mintues,I began to change my attitude. How can a preson keep dig a hole for 19 years? What make he free? It's HOPE.I can not think out how many times have i watched this film, but what I can tell you is that I will watch it again and again.Sorry for my poor english.

So many times I could probably recite it by heart. But the funny thing of it all is I don't have a copy of it. I have to add it to my collection. That is one of my favorite movies of all time and you cannot go wrong with the ending. Make you want to be there seeing it.

Well, the thing that was most amazing of this movie was the shocking revelation of Andy's intentions when he escaped from the prison. And one disadvantage of these kind of movies is that if it has shocking endings, then this is what makes it a great movie but on the flip side when you know what the climax is, the charm to see the movie again is not there when you watch it for the second time. But whatever it be, one can easily watch this movie once in a month or so and dont get bored. I have just seen the movie last month and am planning to do that again.

One of the finest films made in recent years. It's a poignant story about hope.Hope gets me.That's what makes a film like this more than a movie. It tells a lesson about life. Those are the films people talk about 50 or even 100 years from you. It's also a story for freedom.Freedom from isolation, from rule, from bigotry and hate.Freeman and Robbins are majestic in their performances. Each learns from the other.Their relationship is strong and you feel that from the first moment they make contact with one another. There is also a wonderful performance from legend James Whitmore as Brooks. He shines when it is his time to go back into the world, only to find that the world grew up so fast he never even got a chance to blink.Stephen King's story is brought to the screen with great elegance and excitement. It is an extraordinary motion that people 'will' be talking about in 50 or 100 years.
