Not sure if many of you who are not in the uk have seen but we've had 2 car bombs in london which thankfully did not get to be detonated as they were found and then yesterday some psycho's go and ram a flaming 4x4 into glasgow airport.
The priminister has put the country on the highest threat level and it's all happening days before the aniversary of the london bombings last year i see more attacks coming yet it's about time our government started doing more about this kind of thing, our country has turned into a country who are afraid to do anything it's easy to say we will prevent things like this happening and yes they did a great job with finding the two cars in london before they were detonated which would have killed hundreds of people but is prevention really the best we can do? it makes it look like we are saying hey come on have a go we won't do anything to you we'll just take it on the head, we'll walk again, we'll clean up your mess and then you can do it again and we'll do it all over again for you, we have become a country of cowards ruled by political correctness and being pushed around by the E.U.
The days of being proud to be british are long gone now we're left with the days of being cowards, bout time we had a government with a backbone who will stick up for it's country and it's people, as william wallace said to robert the bruce " if you would just lead them they will follow you and so would i ".
One can only await the day when we will get a decent government which will do some good for once until then we will have to contend with being blown up by terrorists and doing nothing about it.

The three botched car bomb attacks these past 2 days - 2 in London and 1 in Glasgow - may be related to the anniversary of the London bombings, or timed by terrorists to test the resolve of Britain's new Prime Minister Gordon Brown. But Mr Brown has said in an interview with BBC Television that "We will not yield, we will not be intimidated". He has put up a tough stand verbally against terrorism, but it is left to be seen how effective he will be when it comes to the crux.
Britain has become a prime target for terrorists because Tony Blair has stood up as US' closest ally in the global fight against terrorism. I expect these attacks will not end any time soon, and the British police and security forces have to be very vigilant and not let their guard down to keep its citizens safe. It is really a very tough responsibility for any government of the day to do an effective job. The price of keeping the country safe from the many thousands of potential terrorists out there is very high indeed.

Ah yes, standing by the US justifies someone ramming explosive cars at innocent people...
PLEASE. stop apologizing, terrorism is never excusable or understandable.

I am not apologizing for the stand Britain's PM takes, nor the terrorists' actions, nor the threat to Britain's citizens lives that stem from the stand that their PM takes. In fact, I do not condone any kind of terrorism, and I wish all these unkind and unjustified acts will stop, so that the world will be a better place to live and we don't have to worry where the next terrorist bombs are going to be detonated.
There may be more than meets the eye as to why Britain's PM is so staunchly behind the US. He may have other agendas, who knows? I certainly don't and I do not wish to speculate either.

Letrs celebrate that we have some of the mosty efficient security services in the world. The intelligence gathering organisations in this country prevent such atacks almost every day. It is very rare that we even hear about them. When we do it is dramatic but lets not be downhearted we catch far more than get through. What troubles me is that we never seem to deport the ones we catch. We just seem to put them in prison. Of course, as of yet each o9ne we have caught have been of Asian extraction, i wonder why that might be?

Britain has experienced terrorist attacks before they didn't work then and they won't work now. Eskerana's right there are many terrorist attacks planned that are stopped before they happen. These two recent ones don't look very professional and were pretty unsuccessful anyway. I've never been proud to be British anyway so it's no loss to me really, but I don't agree the government do nothing about it, if and when these people are caught they will be punished.

well...the first two bombs were found by accident...paramedics were called to the seen where the first car was...the tiger club and they spotted the gas coming from the car...which was the propane (spelt wrong) and thought it was fire..(they called police and fire brigade) and a special police guy spotted the phone and through it from the car...
as for the fire car in glasgow...i dunno if they were meaning to go to edinborough coz gordon brown was flying to edinborough on the same day...luckily they weren't able to set off the explosives in the back of the car ;/
hopefully nothing like this will happen ever again

Yes, the whole world has heard this news. I don't know what you expected them to do. How do you suggest they stop it? If these people are homegrown terrorists, what can the government do? I was impressed that they found the other car bombs before they could cause any damage.

Unfortunately for those that suffered, the UK has a long history of dealing with and understanding terrorism on it's soil. Therefore in a perverse sense, this is fortunate for us now, because we have a very good system of infiltrating and dealing with terrorism. It might not be perfect but it is surely one of the best systems in the world and always has been. It is shocking that there are people that call themselves citizens of the UK coming here to blow themselves and others up. Until this country gets a sensible immigration policy like every other country in the western world seems to have, we will have no idea who is in the country. I am up for freeflowing borders, allowing people to move about with relative ease, but not total freedom to do so without prior checks. It bothers me immensely that people come to the UK, and segregate into their own communities, and in many instances don't even know the language. That, in my mind, is wrong. If you move to a country, you abide by it's laws and you assimilate into the country, and work hard as a citizen of that country to the benefit of all citizens of that country.
