What will happen if you broke your promise to GOD?

Last night while watching the concert of steven curtis chapman ("I will be here" is one of his songs). I sat with a woman who is also a Christian.
I am surprised when she uttered these words. "You have a calling and God himself will reveal it to you. He said you are called before, you are actually on your way there but you stop and did not pursuit.... don't worry he did not forget you...he is just waiting for you to be back in his arms again...he cuddles you in your season of failures only you do not recognizes". After that i share a story of my life with her without hesitation.
What she said is true. and it hits my heart that i wanted to cry. Strike One
In the service today, discusses of the calling, how he called peter and others and they followed. Strike two.
It is really all connected and i realized the messages is really meant for me. 2 strikes is enough i have to do something.
With this events, this pops up to my mind.
WHAT WILL HAPPEN IF YOU BROKE YOUR PROMISE TO GOD?

when i hear something like you have 2 or 3 times, i know i need to pay attention to it. so yeah, i think you should pay attention to it.
and i broke a promise i made to God. my son was driving to oklahoma from nc and on the way back, i told God i would quit smoking if He brought my son safely back to me. well, He kept HIS end of the bargain.
i had to ask forgiveness for that and i did say that i would never do that again... make a promise to Him, because i'm human and well.. you know us humans 'eh?
but He forgives. and that's the bottom line.
even that. :-D

I agree, He forgives, you know catz, everything came to me in a week.
And it started when he have shown me His power once again. An answered prayer, a six long months prayer.... and i have been waiting...a person ask for a particular prayer and God answered the prayer the next day. It alarms me that He do not listen to me anymore. That i been praying for this in six months time, and here came a woman who utter my prayer and it is answered in hours? Wow! that is one heck of alarming incident in my prayer life.... Then he made me realized that i need a church...11 years of wandering is too long that i may no longer recognize him.
GOD will NOT definitely turn his back from us. I am thankful that He gave me a chance to take my time, but i am afraid building blocks in heart have started to grow. I have starterd to enjoy worldly things...ENJOY IT for REAL.
BUT one woman, one prayer made me realized everything. I have broken a promise to serve Him...but now second chance is being offered.
I would say, if we broke our promise to God, God will be sad but will give us all the chances to pursuit that promise. :)

yeah, sometimes you think that God has disappeared, He doesn't hear you and He's nowhere around... but sometimes He's just very quiet... He's always there.. always... and He always has our best interests in mind, whether we realize that or not. sometimes unanswered prayer is either just that... it ain't gonna happen, or... it's not the right time. and that's really hard for us humans to GET. :-D
