My friends used to ask me along for a movie on weekend and I don't really enjoy weekend movie for several reasons. 1) The Cinema normally fully booked, you have to line for a long queue and normallay nice middle seats are taken. 2) the Malls is super crowded. 3) Parking fee is doubled. 4) All the restaurants are full house. It's not leisure at all. There are discount price on Wednesday $6 (40%off) and on other days like weekend, you can visit early bird's show for 20% off. I actually prefer to go during Wednesday as it's more value for money and less crowds everywhere. The question is: Do you prefer to go to cinema on weekend or weekday?

i hate when the cinema is full-packed and has a long queue in the ticket line, and this happens during weekends. so i prefer to see a movie during weekdays when there are less moviegoers. i can concentrate more on the movie i am watching when there are few people inside the moviehouse. it's unfortunate that we don't have those kinds of promotions like discount prices on certain days, but we do have promotional tickets being given by fast food chains when you buy certain amount of foods from them.

Well, if given a choice, I guess I would prefer the weekdays. You see, I don't really like crowds. When I see too many people, I have an urge to just kill them all. Too many people, too little space! Weekdays usually see less people so I would rather with this period. Besides, tickets are slightly cheaper - though still expensive "enough" already.

I always like to go to a movie. The day does not matter. Parking fees are always the same here. Here, too, we have one day during the week when there is a discount. I sure like to take advantage of it because then my money stretches further. Nonetheless I would go to the movies any day of the week.

I go to pictures and restaurant only on saturdays. The problems you mentioned are over come by booking seats in advance. I go along with my family and my father takes of every thing. The following day I take rest and enjoy sunday fully.

i seldom go to the cinema anymore these days. in singapore, it actually costs $9.50 on weekends and fridays i believe. however, for senior citizens on weekday office hours, it can be as cheap is $3.50. i believe that cinemas are making huge profits from ticket sales. and it's not great to meet friends over a movie cos there's no socialising. and dvds are so cheap these days anyway. :)

i prefer to go to the cinema on a weekday because there's not much crowd which means you can get the best seats. however, there are also instances when i would like to watch on a weekend but only on rare instances.

I never come across the situation that you have, even on weekend.Certainly,I prefer the weekend.Because at that time, you haven't something breaking in on.But once the cinema give the premiere of the hollywood film,I will go there to have a seeing dinner. It is crowded on weekend as you said. But booking ticket is very easy.Fully book never happen. On weekday, even you get there on the point of the beginning, you can also have the seat you favor. So maybe this question is not a question for me.

Whenever I can, I try to go on a weekday afternoon, first show. There are many reasons for this 1. It is cheaper, depending on the theater, it will cost $5-7, as opposed to $9 or $10., 2. less people, so there is less of a hassle to get in, and 3. Because there are less people, I enjoy the film more. Usually I can do this when I see a movie by myself. Scheduling is tough when I arrange to see a movie with friends, so on those days, we go on the weekend.

i totaLLy agree with your points that cinemas on weekends are crowded.. aside from experiencing a Lot of inconveniences Like waiting in Line to get a ticket, or having the most unLikeLy seat at the cinema. i aLso feeL suffocated whenever i am in a crowd.. weLL, its definiteLy nice for me to go watch movies on weekdays.. basicaLLy, i have the time to watch movies on a weekdays since my workpLace is just beside a certain maLL, and i enjoy watching movies on those days.. another point here is that i am abLe to watch movies on their premiere dates.. so far, i never watched a premiere that was set on a weekend, haha..

I'd prefer more on weekends, it's a family day so i'd love going out with the whole family during those times and just enjoy in each other's company.

I prefer going to a movie during the week mostly because I prefer smaller crowds. Our theaters are located in places where parking is free, so that is never a problem. We have a matinée with a $2.00 discount every day until 4 pm. So early afternoon works out great. I am retired so I can go anytime I want to. There are usually only 20 - 30 people in a theater that time of the day. So I can sit just about anywhere I want to. The popcorn line is much shorter too! lol.
