Prayer is a conversation with God. I believe God's primary concern is that we have the conversation, not what our posture is at the time. However, folding hands, bowing the head, closing the eyes have always been a sign of reverence and keep us from seeing the distractions around us. I believe it is important that a person prays in whatever way is most natural, meaningful and helpful. There is no mandatory about it from God. The mandatory comes from religious organizations that have developed the practices. Some bow, some genuflect, some raise hands toward the sky. None are wrong unless they are presented as you have to do this or God will be angry. Have an honest conversation with God and God will be pleased in the same way a parent is pleased with the honest conversation of a child. Do what feels right to you, and it will be right as long as it is done with reverence toward God.

bending hands, heads and closing eyes while praying is a habit. I don't think it is mandatory to do so. Prayer is a personal conversation with God. You can pray to him while driving or working out. Prayer doesn't have to be an audible thing either, because God knows our thoughts and feelings.

closing eyes helps us concentrate much better than with our eyes open! in my opinion it's not mandatory or something like that but as it's instinctual therefore all people do it that way.

Its simple Answer:
Prayer is concern to a fulfill a particulat aspect in our life or to praise the God for his creation.
For any thing we need Full concentration on our aspects so the mind should be free..
For that the five sense organs to be free from giving signals to the mind....
So people choose lonely place=no disturbance to ears
close eyes = no visualising objects
Keep hands bend and close = hands are bound for not to do any work.
Like this the ancient people made the procedure for the prayer so that we can fulfill our desire by asking to the mighty God in a concentration mind...

bending our hands and closing our eyes while praying are simply gestures that we do respect, revere and honor our Father which art in heaven, although this not is mandatory. others are doing this because they want focus or concentration as they talk to Him through prayers. they don't want to be distracted by other things around them.
personally, you can talk in whichever way you can as long as you are sincere and the words you utter are coming from your heart rather than from your lips.

I guess it was a learned habit. I do it sometimes and other times, I don't. I don't think God cares if we do or not.
