I have a general question. Why do we condemn pro wrestlers for taking steroids but continue to cheer and applaud othe athletes like barry bonds who do the exact same thing. In actuality I believe that any other sport and the usage of steroids is worse because it does give the athlete an unfair edge. With pro wrestling it is just a look but on any given night they could have a one legged, scrawny boy defeat a muscle-bound man. Oh actually that has happened.
So, why are the Barry's and Julius Peppers still applauded while the wrestlers are condemned for the same actions?

I think we have to be very careful when we start throwing race into discussions. While our country is by no means free from prejudice, we have come a long way over the last 40-50 years. Once the race card is played, it becomes more difficult to express your opinions because you don't want to come off sounding like a racist. If I don't want to see Bonds break the home run record because I don't feel he did it honestly, or I don't care for him as a person, I should feel free to say so. However, when someone says, "white people don't want him to break the record because he is black," now I am hesitant to speak my mind because I may come off sounding like I'm making other excuses when the real reason is I'm a racist. I really don't think race has that much to do with it (of course there will always be some who consider race before all else but for the most part I don't think there's much of a connection there). Ask people who they would like to see set the homerun record. Will every player be white? I doubt it. I've been hoping that Griffey could stay healthy enough over the next few years to have a shot at it. ARod seems like a lock to get at least 800 if he stays healthy. I don't think too many people would have a problem with either of those guys holding the record. Bonds has spend most of his career rubbing people the wrong way. It's an easy out to say that all the animosity toward him is about race.
